I know communication is key in a relationship, especially early on when you’re getting to know each other. I try to be as respectful as possible with consent when I’m dating someone, I don’t even want to hold their hand or go in for a kiss without asking if it is ok. Most women are receptive of it, but I’ve had some who have said “well I wish you just did it, when you asked it just kind of took me out of the moment”. I know older generations just did it but that doesn’t fly anymore… so which is it? Do I just go for it and risk being thought of as a pushy creep, or do I ask permission and risk being thought of as a passive prude?
