I love moments where YT ppl gotta answer for their racism. Now granted, Raymond did do some dumb shit but all the old Philly higher-ups didn’t know what to say about the situation cuz the truth is too horrible.

🎬🗣🎙🏀 It could be argued that, the big difference for the most part between today's young Black male and female teens and back then, was because the Black Fathers were present and showed up for their families… they we're together as a tight net community… Encouraging their sons and daughters, friends y the like… –BIG DIFFERENCES & OUTCOMES! I should know, I was there, I remember… a ₩eastside OG y baller✊🏼🏀 🏃🏽💨too. 💯⭕️

Grew up in LA in the 60s, early 70s so this movie had lots of familiar scenes. I guess overseas ball wasn't as lucrative back then? It's wrong how the Sixers did this man. Great movie, sad ending but he had his faith in God!

"greatest pure shooter in the history of basketball…" Nah, sorry. That's Steph Curry. Overall, great piece though. I'm just nitpicking.

Originally from Chicago, the only story that surpasses this would be Ben Wilson from Simeon High School tragedy!

I watched this doc. today. And Raymond Lewis was cheated. He was cheated big time. There is no doubt about it. But Raymond Lewis has to share some responsibility too. He let his arrogance and lack of business sense outweigh common sense. He walked in that office and signed that poor deal without an agent. To top it off, he walked out of several camps because of "too many" people that were competing for his position. This dude shot himself in the foot several times. Sounds to me like he really didn't believe in all that talent that was there or too arrogant to believe that he should have to compete. Yeah, he was done wrong. But when is some of the blame going to fall on him? Stop coddling Black men and hold them accountable for their poor decision making. Nearly every Black man on that documentary sounded like 13 yr. olds bitching and whining with poor vocabulary. And that White dude who said, "He was our property" is nothing but an old crusty body racist. He showed his whole mentality.

A completely predatory, wholly one sided and unfair contract that was INTENTIALLY designed to take advantage of a blinded by the opportunity of fulfilling a lifetime goal, naive 19 year old inner city kid by experienced sharks like the G.M DeJardin, who lacked ANY moral conscious and displayed no reservations about the obvious one sided fleecing of a spectacular talent – a combination of Allen Iverson and Steph Curry who would be an ATG in today's NBA given the euro – step and the 3 point line.

Sports is a microcosm of society, and a perpetuation of the plantation / franchise system perfected by the JEWS who undeniably, have had an ahem…. curious and unique relationship that candidly resembles the markings of slavery and exploitation that define true CRITICAL RACE FACTS, not theory and Ray Lew's tale embodies some of the best and worst aspects of that relationship being highlighted . There is enough blame to go around and yes, Ray has to take some responsibility, but most has to be reserved for the vultures and snakes that were a part of his life story. A true cautionary tale that speaks
to the ingrained and embedded establishment of the White power structure's socially engineered CASTE, not CLASS system primarily designed by the aforementioned parties to preserve the status quo and limit the growth and opportunities afforded Black people whenever they present themselves.

  28. Zero to 60 Avatar

Seems like he played himself representing himself in his 1st nba contract and from there all the excuses. His arrogance is why he he didn’t make it to the nba.

White supremacy!!!! When will it end. It never will, as long as they have "The Power" to control and regulate human affairs. They are not your friends. Just ask the Native Americans…-They speak with forked tongues and will never honor their word, commitments or treaties-. 🥺🙄

I played college basketball, as a scholarship player you have every opportunity handed to you in college. Some kids have the vision and discipline to get a degree. Some like myself just don’t want to go to school- it’s nobody else’s fault but our own

Is it just me that sees the resemblance between Gene Shue (in the interview for this documentary) and Skip Bayless?

  32. Titus TJ Matthews Avatar

It’s a crazy crying shame he wasn’t able to play a single nba game,,that is something the Philadelphia 76ers back in 1973 definitely messed up on, they could have won many nba championships with Raymond. Lewis leading the way but ins😮he was blackballed
