Each year, five soundtracks are nominated for the Oscar “Best Original Score” (which between 1996 and 1999 was splitted in two parts, “Best Original Dramatic Score” and “Best Original Musical or Comedy Score”).

In the subreddit “classicalmusic” a competition between soundtracks it’s in progress.

For each year between 1990 and the current year, the voters have to select their favourite soundtrack between the ones that were nominated.

The soundtracks with the highest number of votes are qualified for the second part of the competition, in which the winners of each year will compete between each others.

The score of the film Titanic (1997), composed by James Horner, was nominated for the Oscar “Best Original Dramatic Score” in 1998 and it won.

In the competition of the subreddit “classicalmusic”, Titanic won for a second time.
