Life Force (1985) is being offered to Buy or Rent on the right. Wow, amazing how movies are valued and/or not valued? I mean, Life Force is a classic and all, but not as good as this? Maybe it's because of the nudity in Life Force? Anyhow, this is a good movie with great soundtrack and wonderful visuals. For the kids who want to argue science; remember, it's science FICTION. (Having said that) Not sure how you "mine" hydrogen, which is what the Sun fuses to helium to create heat.🧐
A completely mentally unstable crew. Stupidity at every turn. Risking the fate of the earth for ABSOLUTLY no reason. No attempt at common sense ANYWHERE. Then a superpowered sun guy out of nowhere… whats not to like? Honestly, the way it was filmed and the budget are fantastic. Everything else is just so f***ing stupid. Like, as bad as Alien Covenant stupid, minus Juicy Sommelier. I am astounded at the comments and how much people are praising this film.
I must admit that at the begining of this movie I wasn't sure I'd watch the whole thing but I'm glad I stuck with it. Even the musical score alone was worth it. And it was a nice touch using the Sydney Opera House.
Good Cast. I always enjoy Sanada and Michelle Yo, especially when not type cast as martial arts warriors or a Yacuza boss. Chris Evans and Rose and Mark Strong also always good. Expensive special effects but; the plot has some serious holes. Seven scientists and no one thinks to jury rig a simple hydrolysis apparatus to turn all that water no longer used for the oxygen garden plants into hydrogen and oxygen? They obviously have plenty of solar power electricity. Script by Hollywood hacks.
And the space walker burnt by solar radiation or flare or whatever is a tired trope.
Sacrifice one of the lesser actors and keep that commanding presence on the screen through the inevitable mutiny of opinion. And that title? The Prometheus Mission ? Icarus 2 ? Missed opportunity.
Quentin Tarantino and more people dis on the ending and creature. Ive heard people hate Alien Covenant?? I always remember that critics are fans and I can create an alternative narative in moments that are lacking. This is the problem with criticism because "How" could you do it better? I never hear solutions often times. Exluding a part of a movie isnt always a solution. PRO TIP….turn on subtitles for movies if it doesn't block visuals. It enriches my experience a lot. I wouldn't for this movie though.
At 49:22 there is one single frame of some dude smiling maniacally I’ve never watched the movie yet but I’m watching it now and just noticed this no idea if he’s important just wondering if anyone else noticed
This movie is crazy, all these people should have been trained in collective consensus decision making process and an accountability system to double check calculations
I don’t know what it is but movies that only take place in spaceships just don’t do it for me. I feel like a movie about the sun dying should have some scenes on earth that we see what has happened to the earth and whatnot.
Great cast, great sets and effects, great story line but the script has too many stupid holes in it. For example; all of the oxygen in the payload area could have been used for the crew. Another, they would not have gone off mission.

Plot twist, after the explosion, it blew the remaining parts of the sun away, and actual killed the sun even faster. Humanity still died.
