10 Marvel Villains Who Could Replace Kang as the Multiverse Saga’s Big Bad- Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

The rollercoaster ride that is Marvel‘s Multiverse Saga keeps on turning. For, although it looked like the MCU was sticking by Jonathan Majors given his integral role in Loki season 2, it now appears his days as Kang the Conqueror are numbered.

According to a startling Variety report, Marvel execs and creatives recently hotly debated what to do with Majors and Kang at the studio’s annual Palm Springs retreat. Interestingly, despite fans assuming the most likely outcome would be the character getting recast, Marvel is known to be debating removing Kang as the Multiverse Saga’s big bad period and switching him out for a different villain.

If that is the road the studio decides to go down, luckily for Marvel, this universe isn’t short of iconic and/or powerful bad guys to pick from as Kang’s replacement. Here’s a few of the most compelling options.

Doctor Doom

Image via Marvel Comics

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first. As has naturally got fans talking, Variety confirmed that one of the characters Marvel is considering replacing Kang with is none other than the Fantastic Four’s eternal nemesis, the ruler of Latveria himself, Victor Von Doom. After Fox managed to screw him up twice over, the MCU certainly needs to do Doom justice at long last, and yes, casting him as the all-important chief threat of the Multiverse Saga would be one way to do that. Of course, there’s even comic book precedence for this, given that Victor is the big bad of 2015’s Secret Wars event, in his God Emperor Doom form.

The Beyonder

The big bad of 1984’s original Secret Wars event, meanwhile, is the Beyonder. With everything pointing to Avengers: Secret Wars being a soft reboot of the MCU, it’s likely the movie will borrow from the 2015 storyline (which likewise hit the reset button of continuity) more than the ’84 version. Still, the Beyonder would still easily slip into the MCU’s mythos, given that it’s been introducing more and more cosmic entities of late (e.g. the Watcher and Thor: Love and Thunder‘s Eternity). We even just got a — highly camp and comedic — adaptation of the Beyonder in Disney’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur cartoon.

Strange Supreme

Image via Disney Plus

Marvel has developed a bit of an obsession with Dark Doctor Stranges, with the very similar but distinct variants Strange Supreme and Sinister Strange appearing in What If…? and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, respectively. In the latter, we discovered that every Strange across reality is destined to break bad except for the 616 model. Giving Benedict Cumberbatch a pay rise and asking him to step into Majors’ shoes as the Multiverse Saga’s big bad would be a simple way of fixing the Kang problem by making use of pre-established continuity. Alternatively, how about Charlize Theron’s Clea turning out to be the bad’un?

Apocalypse

Apocalypse Marvel Comics
Image via Marvel Comics

OK, so if Marvel is tempted to use a Fantastic Four villain that Fox failed to adapt properly as a Kang replacement, then why couldn’t they do the same with an X-Men villain? One who’s certainly powerful enough to pose a widespread thread is Apocalypse — you don’t get a name like that by being a mere nuisance. As tempting as it would be to have Oscar Isaac pull double duty as Moon Knight and En-Sabah-Nur, an all-new variant of Apocalypse, to distance him from the Fox version, would definitely be the way to go if the ancient mutant did rise up to steal Kang’s spotlight.

Annihilus

Annihilus Marvel Comics

It’s easy to mix up Annihilus with Apocalypse for those not too familiar with the comics characters, due to their similar names and character designs, but actually Annihilus has a lot in common with the MCU’s Kang, which could make him a neat choice to fill his boots. Like Kang is the ruler of the Quantum Realm, Annihilus is the ruler of the Negative Zone and craves total domination of the universe. They even both have a thing for purple and green! Marvel could easily retcon him as a Kang variant, perhaps the deadliest of them all, and set him loose on the Avengers in Avengers: Kang Dynasty Annihilation.

Ultron

Again, What If…? really could hold the secret to rescuing the Multiverse Saga, thanks to its various multiversal plotlines. We’ve already met Infinity Ultron, a variant of the android who was far more ambitious than Thanos in wielding the Infinity Stones. Get James Spader back, bring him into live-action and, boom, job done — a powerful villain who would hark back to the nostalgia of the MCU’s first two phases. He’d be especially deadly if Miss Minutes ever evolved into Jocasta, the Bride of Ultron, as Loki season 2 has suggested could happen.

Ravonna Renslayer

Speaking of Loki season 2, maybe we’re thinking too hard about this when a totally creditable choice to replace Kang as big bad has already been threaded into the Multiverse Saga’s narrative. In Loki, we’ve learned that Ravonna Renslayer was once Kang’s partner in war, multiverse conquest, and love, until he wiped her memories and trapped her in a TVA desk job. She’s now more furious, vengeful, and power-hungry than ever. Given we’re told she was instrumental in winning the Multiverse War for He Who Remains, she should theoretically be a challenge for the Avengers to beat.

High Evolutionary

Thinking along similar lines, who else is there already knocking around the Multiverse Saga who could easily step up in Kang’s stead? Well, how about the villain of Phase Five’s most acclaimed movie so far, the High Evolutionary? James Gunn has confirmed that the evil scientist is still alive at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Seeing how obsessed he was with playing God in the threequel, imagine how much more dangerous the High Evolutionary would get if he discovered the multiverse and teamed up with his variants to make himself ruler of all reality?

Mephisto

Mephisto
Photo via Marvel Comics

Weirdly enough, it feels like the shadow of Mephisto has been hanging over the Multiverse Saga as much as Kang, even though he has yet to appear on screen. Starting with WandaVision, folks have been convinced Marvel’s answer to the devil can’t be far away. And it is heavily rumored that Sacha Baron Cohen’s mystery character in Ironheart could be the horned hell lord himself. It would be a seriously impressive example of the power of fandom if everyone’s hunger for the character resulted in Mephisto becoming the big bad of the whole saga.

Thanos

Image via Marvel Studios

No, I’m serious. Hear me out…

We know Marvel’s desperate to recapture the glory days of the Infinity Saga, yes? It’s even tempted to bring back Robert Downey Jr. and the other OG Avengers. But let’s extend that line of thinking for a moment and ponder the question… What if Thanos replaced Kang as big bad? Either bring in an even deadlier variant or reveal that he never actually died when Iron Man dusted him, as has been heavily theorized.

There’s a reason Star Wars keeps coming back to Darth Vader over and over. Try as Lucasfilm might, he’s impossible to top. Likewise, Thanos is Marvel’s greatest villain and it’s not going to be able to recapture the impact he made on audiences and pop culture alike. So maybe it’s time to stop fighting that and embrace it.

10 Actresses Who Could Replace Amber Heard’s Mera After ‘Aquaman 2′- Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Whether or not you landed in Camp Johnny or Camp Amber during the former couple’s protracted legal proceedings, you’re likely well aware of the accusations levied by each.

And, regardless of actual fault, both of their careers carry scars from the highly-publicized legal battle. Johnny Depp may have walked away from the trail with a victory in his back pocket, but his career in Hollywood isn’t likely to recover. Nor is Amber Heard’s, if trailers for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are any indication.

Heard is barely a side note in trailers for the incoming DCEU conclusion, leaving little doubt as to her future in the franchise. To be fair, she’s in good company as she departs DC joined by the likes of Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, but Heard’s departure was far less amicable.

With so little presence in Aquaman’s promotional material, it seems clear that Heard’s time among DC’s lineup of heroes is over. It’s still unclear whether Jason Momoa is also on the way out, given the DCU shake-ups James Gunn has planned, but assuming the King of Atlantis has a future in the revamped DC direction, there are plenty of actresses who can easily swim in as a sub-aquatic addition to the next Aquaman release — or straight-up replace the big man himself.

Mera

Image via DC Comics

Its exceedingly unlikely that Mera — or Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, for that matter — will survive the move over to James Gunn’s new DCU, but if the character does return in the future, its unlikely she’ll be played by Amber Heard. Should the DCU see worth in maintaining the character, particularly if Momoa does manage to maintain his role, a few stunning actresses could easily take on the part.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke

She recently enjoyed her bit MCU debut, and — despite the absolute mess that was Secret Invasion — she’s more than capable of taking on a character like Mera. There’s no doubt Ms. Clarke can pull off red hair (after all, she made white hair a new trend during Game of Thrones) and she’s got the presence — and the eyebrows — to make Mera a more impacting character than Heard ever did.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner

Alternatively, we have someone with an established history of pulling off those red locks. Why not, after all, right? Heard’s digitally-enhanced red hair looked great in Aquaman, but wouldn’t the task be a touch easier if the actress behind the character sported more natural looking hair? And, while Turner hasn’t enjoyed a role as challenging as Sansa Stark in a good few years, she proved to us — over at least seven seasons in Game of Thrones — that she’s up to pretty much anything we can throw at her.

Andrina

Andrina - DC
Image via DC Comics

Now onto a character far more likely to enjoy a future in the DCU. Once again, this is largely reliant on the franchise maintaining course with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, but — thus far at least — the big man hasn’t been booted from the role.

With that in mind, the plot poised to unfurl in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom could be canon in future DC releases. Arthur’s child is a clear focus in trailers for the late 2023 film, which tells us that, no matter what, Andrina has a future in the franchise.

Sadie Sink

Sadie Sink
Photo by Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty Images

In order to properly honor both of the young Adrina’s parents, I’m providing one option that looks far more like Mera and one that looks far more like Arthur. In the DCEU, Aquaman is — fittingly, in my opinion — played by someone far from the character’s lily white roots, which opens the door to far more diversity in future films. Which means casting Sadie Sink would be a step backward, but one we can easily see DC taking.

Should they decide Adrina favors her mother more than her father, however, Sadie Sink is a shoe-in for the role. She’s a talented up-and-comer with a built-in fan base, and she’s proven, over several seasons of Stranger Things and films like The Whale, that she easily has what it takes to dominate in any role.

Auliʻi Cravalho

Auliʻi Cravalho

Despite my genuine enjoyment of Sadie Sink, this is the real answer. Chloe Auliʻi Cravalho, whose voice you’ll recognize as Moana herself, is easily the best choice for this role. She’s Hawaiian, like Jason Momoa, and she’s got talent absolutely leaking out her ears. She would easily be the best choice for the future of the Aquaman franchise, bringing the new era of DC to gorgeous fruition.

Hila

Hila - DC

If Mera’s time in the DCU really is up, there’s plenty of room for an alternate Atlantean heartthrob, albeit one with less pure intentions. Mera’s twin sister, Hila, has yet to make her big entrance in DC’s live-action releases, but she might just be the perfect avenue to ousting Amber Heard — which the franchise clearly intends to do — while still maintaining a lively redhead for fans to thirst after.

Courtney Eaton

Courtney Eaton

She doesn’t boast the name recognition of Chloe Auliʻi Cravalho or Emilia Clarke, but its practically criminal that Courtney Eaton has yet to make an appearance in Aquaman. One of far too few Native actors to reach acclaim in Hollywood, this Māori star is a shoe-in for the franchise. She’s already cut her teeth on action-packed releases like Mad Max: Fury Road, and she’s a great age to step into a massive franchise like the incoming DCU. She might be a bit young to play Mera’s sister, but she’s got the talent, look, and potential to carry this franchise in a whole new direction.

Keisha Castle-Hughes

Keisha Castle-Hughes

The same can be said for Keisha Castle-Hughes, who might actually suit Hila’s age a bit more. She’s a few years older than Eaton, and — in order for their relation to the 37-year-old Heard-played Mera to make sense — she might just be the perfect fit for the role. You might recognize her from her time on Game of Thrones as one of the Sand Snakes, and the experience she gained on the set of the cultural phenomenon will surely serve her future career well. She and Amber Heard don’t look much alike, but neither do my twin nieces, so why not?

Aquagirl

Aquagirl - Dc

Another easy potential for those future DC releases is Aquagirl, an obvious next step if the DCU decides to keep its connection to water-themed heroes. We suspect that, if Momoa doesn’t survive the move over to the DCU, Aquaman and any related characters will be tossed out. Who better to pivot over to than Aquagirl, another Atlantean with plenty of fighting know-how? Tula Marius, the first iteration of Aquagirl, could make for a great new direction for James Gunn, particularly if the right actress is cast.

Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey

I mean, she’s clearly already familiar with the challenges of those underwater scenes, and Halle Bailey’s star is only set to rise higher following her appearance in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid. She presents a perfect option for a major shift over at DC, with her youth, talent, and spectacular singing voice all presenting unique and intriguing possibilities for a far less cut-and-dried future for the franchise.

As Aquagirl, she could represent a new generation — and a new era — for DC, carrying a team of youthful superheroes to success.

Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel dazzled as Missandei in HBO’s Game of Thrones, and the years since have given her plenty of time to stretch her wings and branch out into other roles. She’s spectacular in dramatic roles, which GoT taught us, but her talent in horror, comedy, and every other genre available shines through her resume, which has seen her enjoy cross-genre success for decades now.

Emmanuel brings a serene, more mature potential to the character of Aquagirl, separate from Bailey’s youthful charm. She’d provide us with a very different take on the character, but one we’d absolutely love to see.

Dolphin

Dolphin - DC
Image via DC Comics

James Gunn is well established as a fan of fringe, lesser-known comic books. His work on the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise made the characters household names, but ahead of their 2014 debut film, they were relatively obscure. Gunn’s tendency toward the lesser-known could see him veer away from the common characters — the Meras, Andrinas, or Aquagirls — instead leaning on a popular, but periphery, character named Dolphin. She’s not unknown, by any means, but Dolphin’s relative obscurity could make her the perfect fit for Gunn’s new direction. Add to that her isolated upbringing — which would perfectly explain her distance from other, established DC characters — and her water-based abilities, and we may have found a perfect fit of the future of DC.

Zendaya

Zendaya

I mean, how could Zendaya not cinch a spot on this list? She’s one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars, after all, and her talent seemingly knows no bounds. She’s part of several massive properties, headlining HBO’s Euphoria, starring alongside Tom Holland in the MCU, and delighting audiences in Dune. She’s utterly unstoppable, and there’s no reason for her not to bring that talent to the DCU.

Sure, she’s already an MCU staple, but why shouldn’t she spread the wealth to the other half of comics heavy hitters? She’d certainly give the burgeoning franchise a boost, and her take on Dolphin could provide a unique and interesting change from the tired and true form of the DCEU.

Siena Agudong

Siena Agudong

We all love us some Zendaya, but it may be best for a lesser-known actress to take on the role of Dolphin. The character is traditionally white — but come on now, almost all comic book characters are traditionally white — so I really don’t feel bad about adding some diversity into the mix.

Casting Siena Aqudong in the role would allow one of the best things the DCEU did — casting Jason Momoa as Aquaman — to persist, by maintaining a Hawaiian native in a leading, water-based role. She hasn’t been in much just yet, but her smattering of film and television roles — from F9 and Resident Evil to 2019’s No Good Nick — have well-prepared her to step into her first major blockbuster.

Ian Cardoni, Harry Belden Replace Justin Roiland – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Rick and Morty” has finally revealed the voice actors who are replacing star Justin Roiland.

Ian Cardoni is the new voice of Rick Sanchez and Harry Belden is Morty Smith. Their names appeared in the credits for the Season 7 premiere on Sunday night. The opening credits also omitted the usual “Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon” and only featured the “Rick and Morty” logo.

The characters’ new voices were first heard in the Season 7 trailer, which debuted in September, but Adult Swim wouldn’t reveal the people behind them. Screeners for “Rick and Morty” released before the season launched didn’t include credits at the end, and though representatives for the show said they’d reveal the voice actors’ names under embargo ahead of the Season 7 premiere on Oct. 15, Adult Swim then reneged on that promise Friday, saying over email, “We’re actually going to continue to keep the names of the new voice cast actors confidential until Sunday night’s east coast premiere.”

Adult Swim fired Roiland in January after he was charged with domestic violence. He was co-creator of “Rick and Morty” with Dan Harmon, in addition to voicing several other characters on the show the Orange County District Attorney’s Office later dismissed the charge in March. In September, NBC published a report alleging that Roiland used his fame over the years to lure and meet young women, several of whom were underage. One of the women alleged Roiland sexually assaulted her; through his attorney Roiland has denied the allegations.

“Rick and Morty” follows the titular grandfather-grandson duo as they travel through the universe. In addition to the trailer, Adult Swim poked fun at the new voices in the logline for the upcoming season: “Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever,” the summary reads. “It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. ‘Rick and Morty,’ 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”

“Rick and Morty” debuted in 2013 and has received critical acclaim. Season 7, premiering on Adult Swim on Oct. 15, will include 10 new episodes.

Roiland was also co-creator and lead voice actor on Hulu’s animated comedy series “Solar Opposites”; Dan Stevens has been announced as his replacement for the voice of lead character Korvo.

Tom Hiddleston Was Forced To Replace Benedict Cumberbatch in a Guillermo Del Toro Movie After His Mysterious Exit- Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch occupy a similar space in the Hall of Hollywood fame, what with being fortysomething upper-class British actors who’ve found international recognition through the MCU. That’s not to say the pair are interchangeable, however — it’s impossible to imagine Cumberbatch playing Loki and Hiddleston as Doctor Strange, for example. And yet Hiddleston was once forced to step into a role Cumberbatch vacated after the latter exited a project under secretive circumstances.

The project in question was 2015’s Crimson Peak, a gothic romantic horror film from director Guillermo del Toro which, while it never found the widespread acclaim of other entries in the filmmaker’s filmography, remains a cult favorite among his fans. Back in April 2013, Cumberbatch and Emma Stone were announced to star, but by June Stone had vacated her part and in August her would-be co-star did the same. By September, Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska had been hired to replace the pair.

Tom Hiddleston wanted Benedict Cumberbatch’s blessing to star in Crimson Peak

Image via Universal Pictures

By the sounds of things, Hiddleston had to make a snap decision whether to join the movie as time was ticking on following the loss of Cumberbatch and Stone. Luckily, Hiddleston was immediately taken with what del Toro had cooked up. As he told BuzzFeed at the time (via The Guardian):

“As these things do, they sent me the script about two weeks ago and it was a very new draft. I know Mia, who I’ll be playing with very closely, and I know Jessica Chastain very well. I’ve met Guillermo before. And we are all admirers of each others’ stuff. And everyone said yes! I’m really, really excited about it.”

Hiddleston and Cumberbatch are known to have been close friends for a number of years, so it’s no surprise that Tom made sure to call Benedict to get his “blessing” once he discovered he had been offered a role that used to be his:

“As soon as Guillermo called, I called Benedict and I said this is happening, and he was like, ‘Amazing!’ So, I had his blessing.”

Why did Benedict Cumberbatch exit Crimson Peak?

Crimson Peak Official Trailer #1 (2015) - Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain Movie HD

There’s no mystery why Emma Stone had to leave Crimson Peak, as scheduling conflicts were to blame — this was the period where she made The Amazing Spider-Man fans, Birdman, La La Land, and much else besides back-to-back, after all. It’s much less clear, however, why Cumberbatch walked away.

The now-47 year old has been reluctant to discuss the reasoning in interviews, but he did offer a few brief words to The Hollywood Reporter when dismissing rumors that he’d exited the movie in order to feature in the then-upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII (what became The Force Awakens). Cumberbatch heavily suggested creative differences with the director were to blame, although he insisted that he and del Toro remained “amicable.” When asked if Star Wars was the reason, he said:

Absolutely not. No, no, no, no. That was nothing to do with it at all. [It was] between me and Guillermo, to be honest. It was amicable, and that’s all I’m going to say.”

Uncorroborated rumors at the time claimed Cumberbatch’s exit was somehow related to Wasikowska replacing Stone as his on-screen love interest, but the actor’s remarks seem to strongly dismiss those claims. Crimson Peak, a haunted house drama in which things go to some very dark places, is a challenging film so it’s perhaps unsurprisingly that Cumberbatch and del Toro had apparently opposing views on how to approach it creatively.

As it is, the Crimson Peak that del Toro made is perfectly cast, with Hiddleston excelling as Sir Thomas Sharpe, a charming but sinister stranger who sweeps Wasikowska’s bookish Edith Cushing off her feet and relocates her to his crumbling English mansion. Jessica Chastain is also phenomenal as Thomas’s creepy sister, Lucille, FYI. Things turned out for the best, then, even if the ghost of Cumberbatch’s curious exit still haunts the film.

The 1975 to replace Lewis Capaldi at Reading and Leeds festivals – Music News – Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

The 1975 will replace Lewis Capaldi at the 2023 Reading and Leeds festivals.

While performing at the TRNSMT festival in Scotland on Sunday, the band’s lead singer Matty Healy announced they will be taking over the Scottish singer’s slot at the British music events after Lewis dropped out of all performances to focus on his health.

“So, on Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds in celebration of our debut album, The 1975 will be playing that album in full support of our good friend Lewis Capaldi,” the 34-year-old told the audience. “If you’ve got tickets, good for you. If you haven’t, go and get them. We’ll see you there.”

Reading & Leeds organisers later confirmed the replacement and that the band will perform their 2013 self-titled debut album in its entirety to mark its 10th anniversary.

The band headlined last year’s twin-site festival, while the 2023 headliners include Billie Eilish, The Killers, and Sam Fender.

Lewis announced in June that he would be taking a break after he struggled to finish his recent Glastonbury performance due to his Tourette’s syndrome.

Matty recently gave a shout-out to his good friend during a show in London’s Finsbury Park.

“I want to send my sincerest thoughts to Lewis Capaldi, who is a good friend of mine. Who on the day when he had to cancel his tour, checked in on me. Just think about that,” he told the crowd.

“And it’s also a reflection on how hard being a solo artist is as I would not be doing this show if I didn’t have these amazing men and women behind me.”

Inhaler replace Brixton Academy gig with three new London dates – Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

Inhaler have cancelled their scheduled gig at the O2 Academy Brixton, replacing it with three new dates.

The Irish band had been set to perform at the south London venue on Saturday, November 4 ahead of their biggest headline concert to date at the 3Arena in Dublin the following week.

However, Inhaler have now scrapped their planned show in the capital due to uncertainty surrounding the future of the O2 Academy Brixton following a fatal crowd crush at an Asake show last December.

Two people died as a result of the incident, with a third being left in a critical condition in hospital.

Inhaler, who released their second album ‘Cuts & Bruises’ in February, will now play a trio of London gigs instead. They’ll take to the stage at the O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 31 before heading to the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (November 1) and Troxy (November 4).

Fans who bought tickets for the O2 Academy Brixton date will receive an email giving them the opportunity to exchange their tickets for one of the three new London shows today (July 7). Those affected have until 6pm BST next Wednesday (July 12) to do so.

Ticketholders who don’t choose an option by this time will be automatically refunded for their original booking. Any remaining tickets for the three concerts go on general sale at 9.30am BST next Friday (July 14) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.

Additionally, Inhaler have announced two new dates at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow (November 6,7). Tickets for those gigs will also go on sale next Friday.

It comes after Suede cancelled their scheduled shows at the O2 Academy Brixton, replacing them with three smaller gigs at the nearby Electric Brixton.

Earlier this year, numerous artists and industry professionals spoke out against the potential permanent closure of the O2 Academy Brixton. The Metropolitan Police had previously claimed to have “lost confidence” in the safety of the venue and pushed for the location to shut its doors for good.

A fresh campaign to save the academy was then launched in May by the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA).

Michael Kill, NTIA CEO, argued that the venue “is a huge part of the cultural economy within London and the UK, and is without doubt one of the landmark performance spaces in the world”.

He added: “It is responsible for shaping and nurturing artists’ careers past and present.”

Meanwhile, Inhaler are due to perform at this weekend’s TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow ahead of sets at Reading & Leeds next month.

The group recently opened for Harry Styles at his Love On Tour show at Slane Castle in Ireland. They also served as support for Sam Fender at his homecoming concert at St. James’ Park in Newcastle.

In a four-star review of Inhaler’s second album, NME wrote: “‘Cuts & Bruises’ leaves space for Inhaler to grow and continue developing a sound more distinctly their own. While they do lack that Fender-esque grit in their story, they are similarly zealous and charming – they’re fast carving out their own worthy place in the scene.”

Meanwhile, Suede are re-releasing their landmark self-titled debut LP as ‘Suede30’ to mark its 30th anniversary.

It felt incredible being in what I thought was quite probably the most exciting band in the world at the time, making a record which felt like more than just another band making another album.”

TMNT’s New Turtles Secretly Replace One Original Brother Each – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Lost Years Within The Last Ronin timeline of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe, a new group of Turtle siblings have been introduced, and each one of them has already begun the process of filling the proverbial shoes of the classic Ninja Turtles before them. In fact, the individual similarities are uncanny, leading one to conclude that these four new Turtles are actually replacing one original brother each.

In The Last Ronin, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael are dead. They, along with Master Splinter, were killed by the Foot Clan led by the Shredder’s decendant, his grandson named Oroku Hiroto. Michelangelo was the sole survivor of this war, though by the end of the limited series, he, too, died as a result of it. But, as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series has taught fans throughout nearly every era of its publication, with death comes new life, and the Ninja Turtles themselves are no exception. So, with the launch of a new spin-off Last Ronin comic, fans are able to see this ‘new life’ that has sprung up from the deaths of the classic Ninja Turtles: Yi, Uno, Odyn, and Moja.

TMNT is Officially Introducing the Original Turtles’ Perfect Successors

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Lost Years by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, SL Gallant, and Ben Bishop, fans are given the details of Michelangelo’s life in the time between the death of his family and the events of The Last Ronin. Simultaneously, the book also jumps to the future, after the events of The Last Ronin. There, April and her daughter Casey are raising four new Mutant Turtles who are no older than toddlers. Casey is hellbent on shaping them into great ninjas just like Master Splinter did with the original four, though April is there to make sure these Turtles have enough breathing room to discover their own unique personalities outside the dojo. Though, as it turns out, it seems they’re each filling the proverbial vacuum left by their predecessors, and their actions throughout these first few issues released so far prove it.

The new TMNT

Uno is a bit too harsh on the others, indicating that they have leadership qualities within themself, but haven’t quite figured out how to be a good leader just yet. Yi is always eager to help, especially when it comes to assisting April in mechanical endeavors, though sometimes a bit too eager, and getting hurt as a result of her own curiosity. Moja is a total loner, oftentimes listening to music, off in their own little world in a totally unapologetic way. And Odyn is easily distracted, and is way more focused on their own desires being met (primarily food) than paying attention to a lesson. Based on these characteristics shown in the first few issues of this Last Ronin series, it’s easy to see how Uno is filling the role of Leonardo, Yi is the successor to Donatello, Moja fills the role of Raphael, and Odyn is the new Michelangelo.

While it’s clear that these new Ninja Turtles still need to grow to fully become the Turtles they were born to be, these early glimpses into their formative years gives fans a lot of insight into the Turtles they will become. Though so far, it’s looking suspiciously similar to the Turtles who came before, as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ new Turtles seem to be replacing one original brother each, and the evidence is way too convincing to ignore.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Lost Years #1-3 by IDW Publishing are available now.
