5 Biggest Highs & Lows Janelle Brown Had On & Offscreen – Armessa Movie News

Janelle Brown is a strong, independent woman on Sister Wives, and as her life has unfolded, it has consisted of some highs and lows. The mother of six is stepping out as a single woman now that she and Kody Brown have gone their separate ways after confirming their divorce during the Tell-All. After taking a look back on Janelle’s time with the polygamous family, her overall experiences seem to be tied.

Kody found his second wife not too far from home. Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown was first married to Adam Barber, Meri Brown’s brother, but after their split, she married Kody in 1993. Janelle Brown became a Sister Wives fan-favorite, but the same couldn’t be said for Meri, who became jealous of the idea of Kody marrying one of his in-laws. Janelle’s time with Kody and Meri started off rocky, forcing her to actually take a step back from her relationship with the patriarch. Finally, Janelle returned to their Lehi, Utah home, where it seemed as though her life improved. Though she never cleared the air with Meri, she and Kody had one of the best relationships.

5 Janelle Brown’s Weight Loss

During Sister Wives season 2, Janelle and her family hit the gym. The TLC personality shared in her confessional that she had noticed her weight creeping up over the years after having her children, but felt “powerless” to stop it. For years, Janelle’s weight has been her Achilles heel, but she was able to turn a negative into a positive. During the same season, Janelle shared that she weighed in at 271 pounds, which catalyzed her transformation.

Janelle’s weight loss played out over multiple Sister Wives seasons. She found herself at her heaviest when the family relocated to Las Vegas. There, Janelle shared with Kody that she was unhappy with how she felt and looked. Janelle even hired a personal trainer, who pushed her to hike and eat better, but her transformation took years. Still, after losing over 100 pounds, Janelle was proud of her accomplishment. Kody’s second wife worked hard to meal prep and get in her daily exercises, which included lots of walking. Ultimately, what was once an embarrassing trait of overeating has become one of Janelle’s most significant wins.

4 Christine Brown Leaving Her Marriage To Kody

When Christine Brown decided to leave Kody in November 2021, it was a devastating loss for Janelle. For years, Janelle and Christine grew closer to one another, becoming more than Sister Wives, but best friends. Over the seasons, Janelle and Christine would support one another when it came to issues with their shared husband, and often were a sounding board for each other.

Christine’s departure woke something up within Janelle, as it opened her eyes to her own issues with Kody. Janelle no longer had her ally next to her for big family discussions, and was essentially left to fend for herself. The immense loss showed Janelle that she was practically alone, since no one else in the Brown family cared about her or her six children. Sister Wives season 16 was hard to watch, and Janelle’s confessionals showed her questioning her place within the polygamous family.

3 Janelle Brown’s Fights With Kody

Another on-screen low point for Janelle was her constant fighting with Kody toward the end of their marriage. During the latest season of Sister Wives, Kody tried to process the grief and anger of losing Christine, but took out his feelings on his three remaining spouses, Janelle, Meri, and Robyn Brown. Janelle finally had enough and chose to walk away, noting she didn’t deserve to be “beaten into submission.”

Janelle also yelled at Kody over his inability to move the family to their land, Coyote Pass. After Kody requested that Janelle purchase Christine’s former Arizona home, she lost her cool on the patriarch. Janelle’s outburst showed a moment of temporary anger, which was not often seen on Sister Wives. It was clear Janelle had been bottling up a lot of frustrations over time.

2 Janelle Brown Stands Up For Her Kids

Even though Janelle had many fights with Kody, most occurred because she was standing up for her six children. This is a win for Janelle, who often went along with Kody’s ideas. After years of dealing with Kody’s strict guidelines when it came to COVID-19, Janelle finally had enough. At one point, Kody wanted his sons, Garrison and Gabe, out of Janelle’s home for disobeying him. However, Janelle put her foot down, revealing that her sons would be staying with her rent-free while they saved for their own homes.

Another time when Janelle stood up for her children on screen was when she confronted Kody about the upcoming holidays. Naturally, she assumed that her children wouldn’t be allowed in the home that he shared with Robyn. As Kody became irate about being made out to be the villain, Janelle cut her husband off by reminding him that she wasn’t a COVID-denier, and that she followed all the rules by wearing a mask and washing her hands.

1 Janelle Brown Buys An RV

Janelle decided to live in a luxury RV on Coyote Pass to encourage the Browns to start building on the property. Even though Kody often stated they had no money to pay off what they owed, Janelle wanted to start making moves. With her former rental house sold and unable to find any other property, Janelle decided to make a big purchase without asking for the patriarch’s permission. Her free spirit helped her have one of her biggest highs on the show, as she finally was able to plant some roots.

Even though Kody had multiple meltdowns and not-so-secretly hoped his second wife’s plan would fail, Janelle succeeded. The mother of six made a life for herself in the Arizona desert as she tried to sort her life out. Janelle only stayed in the RV for one summer, but the move showed how independent she was from her Sister Wives family, and gave her the confidence she needed to walk away from Kody for good.
