‘Oppenheimer’ Digital Release Date, Confirmed- Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

The Barbenheimer craze may be over, but half of that cultural phenomenon is making noise yet again, as Christopher Nolan’s latest film has gotten an official digital release date.

Oppenheimer was a massive success, critically and financially. The film was lauded by audiences and critics alike while scoring over $900,000,000 at the box office (per Box Office Mojo). Now, fans will soon get the chance to enjoy the Cillian Murphy-led movie from the comfort of their own home.

Oppenheimer makes its digital move soon

If you missed the global sensation in theaters, have no fear, for Oppenheimer has a digital release set for November 21.

Fans will be able to purchase a physical copy at their local stores (Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.) that day while also being able to stream the film at a cost via digital platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, etc. (per Variety).

Oppenheimer was distributed by Universal, and was Christopher Nolan’s first film since his falling out with Warner Bros., so Peacock subscribers will likely get to stream the film there, eventually. Interestingly, an exact Peacock release date has not been confirmed yet. Usually, Universal movies are available 45 days after their theater debuts. However, Oppenheimer was in theaters longer than most movies. While Emma Thomas, one of the film’s chief producers, told the Associated Press that fans could watchOppenheimer at home in “late November,” it’s unclear whether that also includes a Peacock release date.

If its colossal success in theaters was any indication, Oppenheimer should be expected to make quite the splash on the digital front. Bladders everywhere will be especially grateful this time around for that pause button!

UK-Ireland box office preview: ‘How To Have Sex’, ‘Bottoms’, ‘The Royal Hotel’ lead new openers | News – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Molly Manning Walker’s How To Have Sex, Emma Seligman’s Bottoms and Kitty Green’s The Royal Hotel are all opening in UK-Ireland cinemas, on a weekend with several well-reviewed films by and about women.

Starting in 150 cinemas through Mubi, How To Have Sex is the debut feature of Screen 2021 Star of Tomorrow Walker. The film follows three British teenage girls on a clubbing holiday in Malia, where one of the group has her first experiences with sex. The cast includes fellow Screen Stars Mia McKenna-Bruce and Samuel Bottomley, with casting director Isabella Odoffin also named a Star in 2019.

How To Have Sex won the main award in Un Certain Regard at its Cannes debut in May, with Walker making it back to the Croisette to collect her award mid-way through the ceremony. The film has since played an extensive festival tour at Jerusalem, Melbourne, Toronto, Zurich, Busan and London among others.

Yesterday (November 2) How To Have Sex received 13 nominations at the 2023 British Independent Film Awards. It is up for best British independent film, one of five nominations for Walker alongside best director, screenplay, debut director and debut screenwriter. McKenna-Bruce is nominated in best lead performance and breakthrough performance with Bottomley in supporting performance alongside castmate Shaun Thomas; while in technical categories, Odoffin is nominated for casting, George Buxton for costume design, Natasha Lawes for make-up and hair design and Steve Fanagan for sound.

Warner Bros is opening Bottoms in 405 cinemas across the UK and Ireland. Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri star as two unpopular queer high school students who start a fight club, so they can have sex before graduation.

The film debuted at SXSW in March, and was a box office success upon its US release, scoring the highest post-pandemic location average for a film on 10 screens or more, with $51,625 (it is now up to $12m). Produced by MGM, the film was released by United Artists Releasing in the US. Speculation that it could launch solely on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and Ireland was ended when Warner Bros picked up theatrical rights for the territory last month.

Bottoms is US director Seligman’s second feature, after 2020’s Shiva Baby, also starring Sennott, which won the John Cassavetes award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The Royal Hotel is the fourth feature from Australian filmmaker Green, and follows two backpackers who take a job in a remote Australian pub; only to be confronted with unruly locals and a situation beyond their control.

With The Royal Hotel starting in 250 sites through Universal, the three widest opening titles of the weekend are all directed by women – a rare occurrence, with the majority of wide-opening releases still directed by men.

It is Green’s first film to receive a significant theatrical rollout; her second feature Casting JonBenet launched straight to Netflix, while The Assistant – nominated for three Film Independent Spirit Awards – fell foul of the pandemic, launching online in the UK and Ireland in May 2020.

Beckett in cinemas

Dance First

Studiocanal is starting James Marsh’s Dance First in 77 sites. Directed by UK filmmaker James Marsh, the biographical drama takes in many parts of the life of Irish literary giant Samuel Beckett, including his time in Paris, and as a recluse. Gabriel Byrne plays Waiting For Godot writer Beckett; the film had its world premiere at San Sebastian in September.

Curzon is opening Nicolas Philibert’s documentary On the Adamant, about the patients and caregivers at a Parisian psychiatric centre. The film became a rare documentary to win the Berlinale Golden Bear in February, going on to play festivals in Geneva, Vilnius, Istanbul, Beijing, Sydney, Karlovy Vary, London and Sao Paulo. Parkland Entertainment has Tim Mielants’ romantic drama Nobody Has To Know  starring Bouli Lanners and Game Of Thrones’ Michelle Fairley, on 60 screens

Limited releases includeStolen, the first feature film since 2007 from Margo Harkin, in eight cinemas through Wildcard Distribution; action thriller Deep Fear on 10 screens through Jade Films; Hong Kong horror It Remains in 10 cinemas through Trinity/CineAsia; and UK comedy The Bystanders in one site through Screenbound Pictures.

Netflix is starting George C. Wolfe’s Rustin, with Colman Domingo receiving awards buzz for his portrayal of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin; while Apple has sci-fi romance Fingernails from Apples director Christos Nikou, starring Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed and Jeremy Allen White. Neither Netflix nor Amazon share site figures.

Universal’s Five Nights At Freddy’s leads the holdovers after a strong first session; while Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon is also performing well for Paramount, and Trafalgar Releasing’s Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will extend its event cinema record.

Marvel’s Edgy First TV-MA Series on Disney+ and Hulu – IndieWire – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

The reverberations of upcoming Disney+ series “Echo” are immense for both the MCU and Disney+ streamer.

The Marvel installment centers on Indigenous deaf antihero Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, who first appeared in 2021 Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” However, “Echo” will take a “grittier” approach to the Marvel storytelling, according to Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming, TV, and animation at Marvel and an executive producer on the series.

“It is kind of a new direction for the brand, especially on Disney+,” Winderbaum said at a press event (via Variety).

“Echo” is the first Disney+ series rated TV-MA; the series will debut in its entirety, as opposed to typical Marvel weekly installments, on both Disney+ and Hulu, another first for both platforms. “Echo” marks the return of “Daredevil” stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio ahead of the new Daredevil Disney+ series which is currently in flux amid a series of reshoots and a shuffling of writers and directors.

“Echo” also stars Zahn McClarnon, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Chaske Spencer, and Cody Lightning. Catriona McKenzie also directs.

“Echo” director and executive producer Sydney Freeland noted that the series is set out to be different from other Marvel installments with “street-level” consequences that include fatalities and more violence.

“We wanted very, very adamantly to show that these are people on our show — they bleed, they die, they get killed and there are real consequences,” Freeland said, citing how the show is an “exploration of trauma — how we deal with it, how we cope with it, how it affects us, how we affect it, how it affects those around us.”

As for Marvel being behind the shift in more adult content, Freeland said, “They protect the shit out of their creatives. I felt absolutely protected and empowered.”

The titular superhero is an Indigenous deaf character, and Freeland met with the Choctaw Nation to form a partnership for onscreen representation and accuracy.

After Marvel’s Defenders series left Netflix in 2022 and moved to Disney+, the Parents Television Council (PTC) issued an open letter to Disney slamming the lack of “family friendly” content.

“It seems wildly ‘off-brand’ for Disney Plus to add TV-MA and R-rated programming to this platform, ostensibly to increase subscription revenue,” President of the Parents Television and Media Council Tim Winter wrote at the time. “So what comes next, adding live striptease performances in Fantasyland at Disney World? Its foray into TV-MA-rated fare will forever tarnish its family-friendly crown.”

Disney+ updated the parental control settings with the addition of “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “The Defenders,” “The Punisher,” and “The Iron Fist” on the streaming platform.

“Echo” premieres January 10 on Disney+. Check out the trailer below.

Taylor Swift Declared Buenos Aires Guest of Honor Ahead of Eras Tour – Billboard – Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

The grand welcoming of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour has gone international. The superstar is set to perform at Buenos Aires’ River Plate Stadium on November 9, 10 and 11, and the Argentinian city has joined in on the tradition of going all out for Swift’s arrival.

The “Anti-Hero” singer was declared a guest of honor by local legislatives following an approved declaration bill filed by legislator Roy Cortina, according to Buenos Aires Herald. In his bill, Cortina cited Swift as a positive influence on the Argentine audience and noted the economic benefits of her Eras tour entering the city. With 220,000 tickets sold, the bill noted that the sold-out shows “will have an impact on jobs and tourism all over Buenos Aires City.”

Swift’s Latin American leg of her wildly popular Eras Tour kicked off back in August with four shows in Mexico City. Following her stint in Buenos Aires, Swift will head over to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Nov. 18 and 19 before wrapping up in São Paulo, Brazil, on Nov. 24, 25 and 26.

Sabrina Carpenter is the opener for the Latin American tour dates, and recently told Billboard that she was speechless after finding out that she’d be touring with Swift, “That is one of my main inspirations ever since I was a little girl, and now to just be able to watch that show every night is going to be so special,” she shared.

Carpenter continued, “It’s so funny, I’ve been growing up with her advice in her songs because it’s very much a how-to book on how to survive as a young woman, which is really special. Watching her in and of itself is how you learn. I admire her work ethic and her talent and she’s just so amazing.”

Taylor Swift fans have been camping out for ‘Eras Tour’ shows since June – Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

Taylor Swift fans in Argentina have been camping out for the singer’s live ‘Eras’ shows since June, a new report says.

First reported by Pitchfork, some Swifties are going to extreme lengths to see the singer up close when she embarks on the Latin American Leg of her tour next week – and have even been seen camping outside the arena for around five months.

As outlined in the report, four tents have been stationed outside the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, where Swift will play three back-to-back shows on November 9, 10 and 11.

The tents are being occupied by eager fans, it outlines, who have been taking shifts in the hopes of getting as close to the front of the general admission standing section as possible. The majority of these are said to be “young women” in the update – although anyone under 18 is not allowed to take part.

It is also noted that each of the tents has around 60 people willing to take shifts manning the spot, and an internal spreadsheet has been developed by two organisers who have each developed rules of the queue and helped to assign shifts to accommodate each fan’s schedule.

As Swift arrives for the three gigs next week, the total number of hours fans spent manning the tents will be tallied up – as will other factors including if they stay overnight or if they stay in bad weather – and the fans who have put in the most work will be allowed to go to the front of the line.

According to the Pitchfork report, fans initially encountered some troubles with the camping – including agitated onlookers shouting at them to “Go to work”, and football fans attending the stadium considering them as jinxes – however, the majority have described the past five months as a positive experience.

One fan named Carmen, for instance, said that she “doesn’t “like the idea of there being a little time left.” She also told the outlet: “What am I going to do with so much time at home, now that I won’t have to be making friendship bracelets all day inside a tent? Return to being a normal person?”

Others also reported that those camping out have gone on to develop friendships, and made friendship bracelets during their time staying in the tents.

In other Taylor Swift news, it was reported that the ongoing ‘Eras’ tour is on course to become the the most lucrative tour in music history, and has  helped to make Swift a billionaire.

Similarly, with her ongoing stretch of re-released albums under the name ‘Taylor’s Version’, Swift has been dominating the charts and breaking various records on Spotify, including becoming the most-streamed artist in a single day for the streaming platform.

The 33-year-old has also left her mark on cinema over the past couple of months, following the release of her concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Since its global release on October 13, the film was reported as a competitor for Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon at the box office, and within just 10 days took $164.8million (£135.8million).

More recently, UC Berkeley confirmed that it will be offering a Taylor Swift course next year, and it was revealed that the singer had become the most translated singer in the world.

PLEASURES introduces new Robert Mapplethorpe collection – Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

Also known as Patti Smith’s other half, Robert Mapplethorpe was an American photographer best known for his provocative black-and-white photography. Not unlike the raw, adamantly against-the-grain musicians he surrounded himself with, from the beginning Mapplethorpe had a DIY sensibility, producing his own Polaroid photographs, a process which he deemed “more honest.”

Upon being gifted, years later, a Hasselblad 500 camera by Sam Wagstaff, benefactor and mentor, Mapplethorpe had a perspective shift, and he began focusing the lens on his circle of friends and acquaintances — artists, musicians, socialites, film stars, and members of the S&M underground. Today, the late creative legend’s legacy lives on, in a vast, provocative, and powerful body of work that has solidified him as one of the 20th century’s canonized artists, and a perennial inspiration on photography and music culture who is still represented in galleries across the globe.

As a brand forever aiming to highlight and uphold creative icons whose work has been influenced by, and influenced, the music industry from all angles, today PLEASURES released a collection entirely inspired by Mapplethorpe’s art, and global impact.

New York Drags Omarosa For Filth, X Applauds The Legend- Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

HipHopWired Featured Video

CLOSE

Source: Gabe Ginsberg / Getty

When it comes to reality television, Tiffany “New York” Pollard and Omarosa Manigault Newman are the top tier of “Don’t F around, because you will find out” energy. The two came to a head on E!’s House Of Villains, with the former reading the latter for all the filth.

SPOILERS AHEAD.

So on House Of Villains reality stars with bad reps compete for a cash prize and get voted off at the end of each episode after some sort of contests, or whatever. Some of the participants include the aforementioned as well as Tanisha Thomas from Bad Girls Club, Bobby Lytes from Love & Hip Hop and other folk that don’t much matter to what we’re discussing here. Oh, and Joel McHale is the host.

Anyway, on the latest and fourth episode, Pollard was basically on the chopping block, with Omarosa holding one of the votes to decide if the stays or not. Lytes manages to escape being in the bottom three, leaving Pollard and some chick named Anfisa Arkhipchenko to their fate. Rather than beg for mercy, Pollard went yolo.

“I’m the original HBI-motherf*cking C,” she said, “And I deserve my spot here in the House of Villains. So I need y’all to keep me here. I don’t want a sympathy vote. I don’t need a sympathy vote. But I need y’all to understand the pecking order.”

True, true. And to this, Omarosa decided to get froggy. “So you don’t want my sympathy vote? That’s what you’re saying?,” said the former Trump and White House employee, who got royally canned. But New Yitty wasn’t having it.

“Since I already said that, Omarosa,” said Pollard, “May I also say that I find you to be a cock-sucking, come-guzzling Republican cunt, and I sleep better at night knowing that you’re not in the White House.”

Well damn. Omarosa tried to play it, but you could tell she wasn’t ready for that verbal TKO.

This is the stuff of legend, and considering the vitriol many have for Omarosa to this day, it’s a celebration X, formerly known as Twitter. See some of the best reactions in the gallery.

Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang and Global Citizen Team on Move Afrika: Rwanda- Armessa Music News

[ad_1]

When Kendrick Lamar takes the stage at Kigali, Rwanda’s BK Arena on Dec. 6 for an event called Move Afrika: Rwanda, it will mark the first step in building a global touring circuit on the African continent. Lamar’s entertainment company pgLang is teaming up with Global Citizen, the advocacy organization known for staging charity concerts around the world, to launch an initiative called Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience.

The organizers hope to expand the program to include tour stops in five African countries by 2025. The concert will also feature performances by talent from the areas where each concert takes place. Lamar’s pgLang will serve as Move Afrika’s curator through 2028.

“Our goal with Move Afrika is to inspire local youth and artists to unlock their creativity,” a rep for pgLang said in a statement. “We hope to curate an immersive experience that empowers various communities and cultures across Africa and around the world for a lifetime.”

The initiative will help create jobs and offer entrepreneurship opportunities locally. In addition to employing local artists, it will provide jobs for vendors, agencies, and crews, as well as necessary training for people new to these jobs. The organizers hope Move Afrika will also drive expectations for more events around the continent.

“Africa is driving culture and creativity globally, but the continent has been left out of the global music touring circuit for too long,” Hugh Evans, Global Citizen cofounder and CEO, said in a statement. The organization has previously hosted events in Johannesburg, South Africa, Lagos, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana. “By moving from one-off events to the sustained commitment of an annual tour, Move Afrika will drive transformative investments across Africa through the pioneering of a world-class touring circuit. Move Afrika will pave the way for many more artists to tour the continent, while generating new economic opportunities within the entertainment industry for Africa’s booming youth generation.”

The organizers also hope to draw attention to social issues that affect the African continent. These include finding funding for health, especially for females, addressing climate change and how it affects food availability, helping to find jobs for younger generations, and encouraging civic participation. They’re also offering a WhatsApp number for people interested in taking action on these issues to text: +250 790 008 555 on WhatsApp.

Kigali, Rwanda, will be the base for Move Afrika for the next five years. The decision to host the event there shows prosperity in the region, which three decades ago made headlines for genocidal violence. Now, it’s known for its growing population and booming economy, which is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies after the pandemic. Last month, The New York Times noted that Rwanda has the highest number of female parliamentarians in the world. The Rwanda Development Board has partnered with its organizers to grow the festival with time.

Trending

“We are delighted to host Global Citizen and to provide a platform for Move Afrika,” Rwanda Development Board CEO Francis Gatare said. “This is a unique collaboration that aims to showcase the best of African creative talent to the world, through curated memorable entertainment experiences that address development priorities of our continent. Creating employment and income-generating initiatives of the private sector, with a spotlight on the youth, is Rwanda Development Board’s core mandate. Together with Global Citizen and Move Afrika, we will position Rwanda as an entertainment hub for all African countries to benefit from the global creative industry.”

Lamar, who recently collaborated with Taylor Swift and released his fifth album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, last year, has only one other concert on his schedule for the rest of the year. He’ll headline one day of the Hey Neighbour Festival in Pretoria, South Africa, on Dec. 9.

Release Date Prediction, Confirmation & Everything We Know – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Summary

  • Lionsgate has greenlit the sequel to the survival thriller Fall, which became a sleeper hit on Netflix, earning $21 million at the Box Office.
  • Filming for Fall 2 is set to begin in June 2024, with director Scott Mann returning to helm the project and bring a new cinematic experience.
  • The plot details for Fall 2 are still under wraps, but it is expected to feature a new scenario with higher stakes and maintain the vertigo-inducing atmosphere of the first film.

After the survival thriller became a global hit across Netflix in 2023, Lionsgate has announced that Fall 2 is in the works. Fall soared to new heights ever since it dropped on Netflix in many global territories. In the UK, for instance, Fall was Netflix’s second most-viewed movie for two consecutive weeks in March 2023, seconded only by the Idris Elba-led Luther: The Fallen Sun. It stars Grace Caroline Currey (Shazam) and Virginia Gardner (Marvel’s Runaways, Halloween) as best friends Shiloh and Bekcy, who are stranded on a 2,000 ft tall radio pole and have to find unconventional ways down.

Available To Stream On Hulu

The tower in Fall proved to be quite an efficient prop as it helped build atmospheric tension and anticipation for Fall 2, helping it to become a sleeper hit after accruing $21 million at the Box Office against the $3 million budget. Fall’s resurgence on Netflix can be attributed largely to word-of-mouth buzz — and with the Lionsgate -distributed feature dominating the conversation on the survival subgenre, it is no surprise that a sequel is already in the works. While Fall dealt with several anxiety-inducing scenarios for audiences with acrophobia, it will be exciting to see how the stakes would get higher in the next chapter.

Fall 2 Latest News

Lionsgate Has Given Fall 2 The Green Light

The latest news on Fall 2 came on October 31, 2023, when it was confirmed that Fall 2 had been given the green light by Lionsgate — alongside a follow-up, Fall 3. After the sequel to Fall had been teased for a while it was made official by Lionsgate toward the end of 2023, and the studio also confirmed that filming was set to start in June 2024. Scott Mann will be returning to direct, co-write, and produce Fall 2, revealing how excited he was the survival thriller was becoming a franchise in a statement:

I am thrilled to be continuing the Fall journey and taking it to the next level. We’ve got a really special cinematic experience planned and I’m immensely grateful to my fellow producers for backing the vision. I’m also excited to be working with new collaborators as well as reuniting with the original gang, and obviously can’t wait to be back filming thousands of feet up.

Fall 2 Confirmed

Filming On Fall 2 Starts In 2024

Two women looking at a tower in Fall

Fall 2 is confirmed, with the sequel first teased in early 2023 before getting the official green light from Lionsgate in October the same yet. The Fall sequel getting the go-ahead is in part thanks to the success producers Mark Lane and James Harris have had within the survival genre. Even before Fall, the duo had produced 47 Meters Down which starred Mandy Moore and Sophie Nélisse as two sisters stranded in an underwater diving cage.

With experienced hands at the helm of the Fall franchise and Scott Mann returning to direct and co-write alongside collaborator Jonathan Frank it’s clear Fall 2 has a solid creative team behind it, one that’s more than capable of repeating the vertigo-inducing magic that made the first movie a success.

Fall 2 Release Date

The Fall Sequel May Arrive Before 2025

Two women standing together in Fall

With Tea Shop Productions confirming that they plan on moving ahead with the project in the latter half of 2023, it is highly possible that the Fall 2 release date could arrive in late 2024. However, filming isn’t pegged to start until June 2024, so it’s also possible that the release date of Fall 2 could arrive in 2025, depending on how long development and production take.

Fall 2 Cast

Who Is Starring In Fall 2?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan looking sideways in Fall

The Fall 2 cast hasn’t been revealed, and it’s difficult to predict who will be starring in the second movie of the franchise. With most of the information around Fall 2 kept under wraps, it is uncertain if any of the first film’s actors will be returning or if the sequel would feature an all-new ensemble. If Fall 2‘s narrative directly follows Fall, then Grace Caroline Currey will definitely return as Becky, the climber who survives in the end. Currey, who had a supporting role in Annabelle: Creation and portrayed Mary Bromfield (Mary Marvel) in the Shazam franchise, proved her worth as a leading star with her performance in Fall.

With her best friend Hunter’s death contributing to an integral plot twist in Fall, there is very little chance for Hunter actor Virginia Gardener to return. If Becky’s father James also returns, then The Walking Dead star Jefferey Dean Morgan will definitely be one of the most popular stars in Fall 2. If Dean Morgan returns with Mann still directing, Fall 2 will mark their third collaboration after 2018’s Heist and Fall. Regardless of any new castings, a limited cast of up to four or five actors can be the way to go if Tea Shop Productions decides to adapt a similar survival format as the first Fall and 47 Meters Down.

Fall 2 Story Details

What Is The Fall Sequel About?

A woman clinging onto a tower in Fall

There haven’t been many story details revealed yet, but there are several reasons why Fall 2 shouldn’t be a direct sequel. A primary cause is that most of Fall‘s plot and character motivations were resolved in the first film itself. Becky survives in the end and finally recovers from the death of her husband Dan, who had earlier died in a mountain-climbing incident. Further, the B67 tower cannot offer any more challenging possibilities for any of the characters.

Covering an entirely new scenario with higher stakes is highly likely to feature in the story for Fall 2. However, given that this would be a Fall movie, it is obvious that alarmingly high altitudes will serve as a recurring trope. As reported by Deadline, British producer and Tea Shop co-founder John Harris revealed that his team will be working on a Fall 2 story that hopefully doesn’t feel like a rehashed version of the first Fall. To quote Harris, “We’ve got a couple of ideas we’re kicking around … We don’t want to make something that feels like a copycat or less than the first one.”

LL COOL J and The Roots Reimagine “Mama Said Knock You Out” for NBA In-Season Tournament -Music News

[ad_1]

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has unveiled a thrilling collaboration between Grammy Award-winning hip-hop legend LL COOL J and the four-time Grammy Award-winning group The Roots. Together, they have reimagined the iconic song “Mama Said Knock You Out” to serve as the official anthem for the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament.

This bespoke anthem blends LL COOL J’s Grammy-winning hit “Mama Said Knock You Out” with the lively hook from The Roots’ popular track “Here I Come.” The result is a dynamic musical backdrop that will accompany the various stages of the In-Season Tournament, starting with Group Play involving all 30 NBA teams and culminating in the Championship.

The anthem spot pays homage to the original VMA Award-winning music video while injecting a modern twist. LL COOL J’s presence transitions from the boxing ring to the hardwood of the In-Season Tournament stage, complete with a tribute to the tournament’s coveted trophy, the NBA Cup, and a live performance by The Roots.

“I’ve been a fan of the NBA ever since I can remember, and it’s a real honor to have my record serving as the anthem for this monumental moment,” said LL COOL J. “I’m excited to see the energy of the song translate to the play on the court during the NBA In-Season Tournament.”
