Even after you beat the final boss of Lies of P, there are still plenty of things to do, from finding the best weapons and gear in a new playthrough to discovering alternate endings to Pinocchio’s journey. The strong setting of Krat and endearing characters make it worth going into a second time.
7 Start a New Game+ Playthrough
Almost every item from your first run carries over into New Game+, except for Key Items and Recollection items that must be found again during a new story run. Certain Stargazer features are locked off as well until certain points in the narrative. Thankfully, you’ll still be able to use these devices to fast travel in Lies of P again within Krat as you discover them again in a fresh playthrough.
Remember that although you could start over to have a new build from the beginning, you could always unlock the Saintess of Mercy statue to respec your levels in Lies of P from your original character. This allows you to change your Attributes, P-Organ upgrades, or Legion Arm enhancements without restarting at much weaker levels. Having more points or materials to work with in New Game+ makes a character’s respec much easier.
When you start a New Game+ run, you have the option when Pinocchio awakens to reset all your P-Organ upgrades and receive all the Quartz you spent on those improvement paths.
6 Find Every Record
One of the rarest collectibles in Lies of P are record audio logs, or discs that you get from different NPCs as you complete various side missions separate from the main game. These recordings give you more details about the world, revealing more about the impact of the Petrification Curse than you may have realized originally. Six records are exclusive to New Game+ and are played on the Gramophone in Hotel Krat.
The record locations in Lies of P all need to be found to receive one of the most hidden and powerful weapons in the game, the Golden Lie. When you go through a run and tell more lies than truth and listen to every record, the next time you enter New Game+, you will find this sword hanging stabbed into a painting. Since the six secret records are only on the first New Game+, you can get this tool on your third playthrough.
5 Try New Weapon Combinations
While you may have relied on one or two major weapons during your first run, there are many more weapon combinations to explore by combining new blades with alternate handles. Weapons in Lies of P come in two parts, the blade, and handle, leading to a ton of customization between the available parts you pick up. Part of the fun in a fresh playthrough comes from using a weapon you couldn’t wield before.
4 Open Up Additional P-Organ Phases
In New Game+, more than 4 P-Organ Phases provide additional node pathways for Pinocchio to get stronger than they ever could be in your first journey through Krat. P-Organ upgrades in Lies of P grant improvements to Pinocchio’s skills and get better and better as Phases increase. Abilities never seen in the base game can now provide skills that use the extra Quartz you collect in your travels.
3 Switch Dialogue Choices
One of the key features of Lies of P revolves around choosing to lie or tell the truth during quests, which leads to you gaining specific items and impacting Lies of P‘s ending. While you may have leaned more into the truth during your first adventure, you may decide to be deceitful the second time on New Game+. Doing this is an excellent opportunity to see how Pinocchio’s relationship could change between various NPCs.
2 Unlock All Endings
There are three endings to Lies of P, “They All Lived Happily Ever After,” “Free From the Puppet String,” and the hidden “Rise of P” conclusion. These results come after you defeat Simon Manus, the final boss, and choose to either hand your heart to Geppetto or refuse. These endings also become available depending on whether you lied or told the truth more often and feature drastically different outcomes.
While you may have just handed over your heart to Gepetto at the end of your first playthrough, seeking out the other two final acts is highly recommended. Refusing to hand over your heart, telling the truth, and letting Sophia live unlocks the Puppet String ending. Meanwhile, telling lies and giving Sophia peace could lead to the Rise of P, which is considered the true ending of Lies of P.
Choosing to refuse to hand over your heart to Gepetto leads to a battle against the true final boss, the Nameless Puppet.
1 Try Other Soulsbourne Games
For those who enjoyed the punishing combat of Lies of P, infamous titles such as the Dark Souls games, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne inspired Pinocchio’s dangerous experiences. The Victorian, gothic setting made to subvert the fairy tale of the famous puppet who became a real boy sets itself apart, but not without many elements being directly tied to those that came before.
After beating your first experiences with the game, one of the best things to do is to challenge yourself to engage in other entries from the Soulsbourne genre and see how their designs were instrumental in creating Lies of P.
