Nearly two months after the action sequel hit theaters, John Wick: Chapter 4‘s streaming release date has been revealed. The Reeves-led movie will be making its way to Starz, the network owned by franchise studio Lionsgate, on September 26, just over six months from its March 24 release. Though a long time from its initial release, this is likely to coincide with the prequel spinoff The Continental premiering on Peacock the same month.

How The John Wick Franchise Is Continuing After Chapter 4

Despite the emotional John Wick: Chapter 4 ending seeing Reeves’ near-invincible assassin finally meeting his end, it was confirmed just two months after its successful run in theaters tht Lionsgate were moving forward with John Wick 5. At the time of writing, it’s unknown how a fifth movie will continue the franchise, with Reeves and director Chad Stahelski having both confirmed their interests to return, though noting it would require a story worthy of undoing Wick’s ending.

With no timeframe given on John Wick 5‘s development, the franchise will have to turn to other avenues to keep the action franchise going. In addition to the aforementioned Contentinental prequel series, next year will see the release of Ballerina, a spinoff set between John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and Chapter 4 and focusing on Ana de Armas’ young assassin Rooney, previously portrayed by Unity Phelan in the former movie. The spinoff will see Reeves make an appearance as Wick alongside Ian McShane as Winston, Lance Reddick as Charon and Anjelica Huston as the ballerina director.

On top of these already confirmed projects, Stahelski recently indicated that he is working with Lionsgate for another John Wick TV show, which has been speculated to be the secret universe movie previously reported to be in the works. With both Donnie Yen and Shamier Anderson expressing their hopes to explore their characters further, John Wick: Chapter 4 has proven to be just as important to the franchise’s future as it could’ve been its end.
