The CW has picked up popular Biblical series The Chosen as the network continues restructuring. Following Nexstar Media Group acquiring a 75% stake in the network, The CW has gone through many changes in recent months. In particular, the network is shifting away from scripted shows, instead opting to prioritize unscripted shows, reality TV, and acquired series.

Now, Variety reports The CW will be airing Biblical series The Chosen as part of their plan to restructure. The crowdfunded series by Angel Studios follows the life of Jesus as told through the eyes of his followers. The CW will usher in The Chosen‘s broadcast TV debut on July 16 at 8 p.m., airing every episode until season 3, episode 8 on Christmas Eve.
