Gargoyles is getting a live-action remake at Disney+. The animated show originally ran for three seasons between 1994 and 1997, following the adventures of a group of enchanted ancient gargoyles who are transported from Scotland to modern-day New York City, where they are reawakened and become vigilante heroes under the cover of darkness (as they turn to stone during the daylight hours). The voice cast of the show included Keith David, Frank Welker, Ed Asner, Marina Sirtis, and Jonathan Frakes.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ is currently in development on a live-action revival of the iconic Gargoyles cartoon. On board to produce is Atomic Monster, the company founded by James Wan, whose directorial efforts include The Conjuring, Furious 7, and Aquaman. The show will be executive produced, written, and showrun by Gary Dauberman, a frequent Wan collaborator who is best known for writing the Annabelle trilogy and the It duology.
