A new Gotham Knights video featurette teases the deep mystery that surrounds Batman’s murder in the upcoming CW drama premiering in March.

Batman’s murder becomes the center point in a new Gotham Knights video featurette. Despite winding down on the DC TV brand, The CW is keeping the tradition alive with a new superhero drama on its way. For 2023, the network is bringing Gotham Knights to the programming slate, based in the world of Batman. Despite having the same name, Gotham Knights is not based on the video game that was released in 2022. While stemming from the Batwoman writers and producers, this is not a spinoff series, nor does it tie to any other Arrowverse show. The CW is officially premiering Gotham Knights on Tuesday, March 14 at 9PM right after the Superman & Lois season 3 premiere.

Everything We Know About Gotham Knights So Far

While little news has emerged about Gotham Knights lately, there are a few confirmed details about The CW show. Gotham Knights centers on Bruce Wayne’s adoptive son Turner Hayes and the children of Batman’s enemies. When Bruce is suddenly murdered, they are all framed for his death, and it will be up to them to clear their names. Following the death of Batman, the teenagers will also have to solve the murder. Along the way, Gotham Knights will explore the characters becoming the next generation of heroes in Gotham City.

The cast features Oscar Morgan as Turner, along with Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley and Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, famous Batman characters. Gotham Knights will also feature Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela, Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Bow, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, and Rahart Adams as Brody. Two-Face will also be a main character on Gotham Knights, but fans will first meet him as Harvey Dent, played by Misha Collins. Batwoman‘s James Stoteraux, Chad Fiveash, and Natalie Abrams co-created The CW series, with Greg Berlanti attached as an executive producer.

Even though Gotham Knights won’t have any tie-ins to the other Arrowverse shows, it will be interesting to see where they go in a fresh continuity. The bigger mystery, however, is if Gotham Knights will continue for additional seasons. Given The CW’s new owner, Nexstar, the network is re-shaping its strategy and targeted demographics. The Flash season 9 will be the final season of the series, and it’s unclear if Superman & Lois will go beyond season 3. Depending on where Nexstar/The CW goes for the 2023-2024 TV season, time will tell what happens to Gotham Knights after season 1.
