Henry Cavill’s Utter Lack of Chemistry With Amy Adams Can’t be Defended- Armessa Movie News

It’s a testament to Zack Snyder’s impact on not just the DCU but the entire superhero discourse that Man of Steel remains one of the most talked-about comic book adaptations around even 10 years on from its release, and that would still be the case even if it wasn’t for The Flash propelling the franchise’s opening chapter back to the forefront of the public consciousness.

Of course, it hasn’t all been of an entirely positive nature, with the majority of outrage revolving around Henry Cavill’s decision to reveal to the world he was back full-time as Superman without having a contract in place that stipulated as much, only for James Gunn to come along and toss him out onto the street and announce he was rebooting the Big Blue Boy Scout instead.

Based on the latest reports, chemistry reads are about to get underway for Superman: Legacy‘s new Clark Kent and Lois Lane, but SnyderVerse supporters have taken it upon themselves to decree already that whoever the duo ends up being, they’ll never be able to replicate the sparks created between Cavill and Amy Adams. Which seems odd, considering there were zero.

Not to sound too harsh, but there was absolutely no chemistry at all between the two, regardless of how well-suited they were to their respective roles. It’s hardly an incendiary opinion, either, when praise for Adams’ intrepid reporter has led to an outpouring of agreement that she and Cavill fizzled out sharing the screen.

On the plus side, Gunn knows how to cast actors who possess and create genuine chemistry with each other, even if it won’t be too difficult to top the frigid interactions between the former Lois and Clark.
