Kim Kardashian recently hired a male nanny in the absence of Kanye West, and she was worried how her ex-husband would react to the decision.

But in the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, which kicked off its fourth season in September, the SKIMS founder revealed that the “Donda” rapper was surprisingly chill about the family’s new employee. “I recently hired a manny,” Kardashian began, noting that she has a “female-dominated” household, according to People. “I really wanted a male around that would be picking them up and taking them to sports, and I was scared out of my mind to tell their dad that.”

“When he was dropping off the kids, Kanye introduced himself,” continued the reality star, who shares daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 5, as well as sons Saint, 7, and Psalm, 4, with Ye. “They played two-on-two with Saint and him.”

“He’s been so nice to him, like, ‘Hey, if you’re going to help raise my son’ — because he handed him the ball really easily or something — he’s like, ‘Don’t do that, have him get it himself,’” she added. “It’s some of the rules I would want.’ And I was like ‘Oh my God, OK.’”

Kardashian also admitted, “It’s really hard for me to be really strict and to discipline a lot. … My parents weren’t strict at all, and sometimes because I’m really busy, it would be amazing if I had a partner who would tap me out and take over and handle it,” she said. “But, you know, it can’t happen like that.”

The American Horror Story actress has been open in the past about the difficulties of parenting as a single mom following her split from Ye in February 2021. Both sides initially said that the breakup would be amicable, but things became increasingly tense between the two when Kardashian started dating Pete Davidson in 2022, whom she’s no longer seeing.

“If it’s something concerning my kids’ dad and I’m upset, I try not to show as much emotion,” she told Vogue Italia over the summer. “I have to be ready to explain why I’m upset and it might not be appropriate for them to know. There’s nothing worse than ‘You’ll understand when you’re older.’ I don’t want to be that person.”
