Honkai: Star Rail – Topaz Character Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps) – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

If you give the best build and team comp to Topaz and Numby in Honkai: Star Rail, the odds are that you will significantly improve the character’s damage output and increase your own general appreciation of the game. The duo, centered around Topaz, is a 5-star character that uses Fire as their main element and follows the Path of the Hunt. Along with Jingliu, Topaz was introduced as a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail 1.4. She was also first introduced as an NPC during the update’s contents, as she had not yet debuted in HoYoverse’s popular turn-based RPG through story missions or limited-time events.

Though she had been featured in the artworks for some Light Cones, Topaz was mainly unknown until her official announcement. Now, it is known that, because she follows the Path of the Hunt, Topaz is a DPS character. Different from other Hunt heroes, however, Topaz’s main source of damage comes from follow-up attacks provided by her Warp Trotter companion, Numby. Topaz also inflicts debuffs on enemies, making them receive more damage from her attacks. Once Topaz’s character Ascension in Honkai: Star Rail is dealt with, you can start thinking about building her to optimize her abilities and overall damage output. Luckily, she is built like most other DPS characters.

Best Light Cones For Topaz & Numby

The best Light Cone for Topaz and Numby in Honkai: Star Rail is their signature 5-star weapon, Worrisome, Blissful. This Light Cone, only obtainable through the gacha system’s limited-time banners, is tailor-made for Topaz. It has a decent ATK stat (582 at level 80) but really stands out with its Superimposition ability, called One At A Time.

Having it equipped will increase Topaz’s CRIT Rate by 18% and DMG from follow-up attacks by 30%. After Topaz and Numby use a follow-up attack, they apply Tame to the target, for up to two stacks. When enemies debuffed by Tame are hit, each stack will increase the CRIT DMG received by 12%.

The way the Worrisome, Blissful Light Cone operates around Topaz’s follow-up attacks and the increase in both her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG makes it perfect for the character. If you are unable to equip Topaz with her signature weapon, there are alternative 5-star Light Cones for her in Honkai: Star Rail. One of the best substitutes is Sleep Like the Dead.

The Light Cone increases Topaz’s CRIT DMG by 32% and when her Basic ATK or Skill does not result in a CRIT Hit, their CRIT Rate is boosted by 40% for one turn, an effect that can be triggered once every three turns.

Although it is a lot more generic, it fits Topaz perfectly. The problem is that it is also a premium weapon. Luckily, there is a F2P (free-to-play) option in Honkai: Star Rail called Cruising in the Stellar Sea, which is just as good as Sleep Like the Dead. Obtainable through Herta’s Store, the 5-star Light Cone increases the user’s CRIT Rate by 8% and boosts the stat against enemies with HP less than or equal to 50% by an extra 8%. When Topaz defeats an enemy, their ATK is increased by 20% for three turns. If premium options are not available, this is the go-to Light Cone for Topaz.

The table below lists the best builds for Topaz, including Light Cone options, Relics, Ornaments, stats, and more:

Best Build For Topaz & Numby In Honkai: Star Rail

Light Cone

  • Worrisome, Blissful (Best 5-star)
  • Sleep Like the Dead (5-star substitute)
  • Cruising in the Stellar Sea (Best F2P 5-star)
  • Return To Darkness (Best 4-star)
  • Swordplay (4-star substitute)
  • Only Silence Remains (4-star substitute)

Relic & Ornament Set

Relics:

  • Firesmith of Lava-Forging (4 pieces)
  • Musketeer of Wild Wheat (4 pieces – temporary substitute)

Ornaments:

  • Inert Salsotto (2 pieces)

Stat Priority

  • ATK
  • CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
  • Fire DMG
  • SPD (optional)
  • Energy Recharge (optional)

Skill Priority

  • Talent
  • Ultimate
  • Skill
  • Basic Attack

Although Cruising in the Stellar Sea is the best F2P option for Topaz, you may equip a 4-star Light Cone while you farm the resources to get the 5-star item. A great 4-star option that is on track with the CRIT buffs provided by 5-stars is Return to Darkness. Alternatively, you can use Swordplay or Only Silence Remains to boost the damage you apply against enemies in Honkai: Star Rail. There are several solid 4-star Hunt Light Cones to choose from – the only rule is that you use one that boosts Topaz’s strengths as a main DPS character, so increases to CRIT or ATK are welcome.

Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats For Topaz & Numby

Honkai Star Rail's Topaz answers a phone call while Numby floats beside her.

The best Relic set in Honkai: Star Rail for Topaz and Numby is currently Firesmith of Lava-Forging. The two-piece bonus provided by the set increases Topaz’s Fire DMG by 10%. With all four pieces equipped, it will increase her Skill DMG by 12% and, after she uses her Ultimate, her Fire DMG will be boosted by an extra 12% for the next attack.

While it is fairly generic for most Fire characters, it does luckily match Topaz’s elemental alignment and her proficiency with her Ultimate ability. If you are still in the process of farming this set, you can temporarily use the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set.

Because Topaz’s gameplay kit revolves around her landing CRIT Hits for boosted damage, it is best to pair her up with Inert Salsotto. This Ornament set in Honkai: Star Rail will increase Topaz’s CRIT Rate by 8% and, when her overall CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, Topaz’s Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG will be increased by 15%.

Considering the DMG boost to both these attacks, which are Topaz’s main specialty when it comes to damage output, this is indisputably the best Ornament set for her. You can also use Celestial Differentiator or Space Sealing Station as Ornament substitutes, but none will match the benefits provided by Inert Salsotto.

When farming the Firesmith of Lava-Forging Relic set and the Inert Salsotto Ornament set, you will need to look out for pieces that boost the stats that best increase Topaz’s powers as a DPS in Honkai: Star Rail. They are ATK, a balanced CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate distribution, and Fire DMG. The secondary stats are SPD and Energy Recharge Rate. Nevertheless, the role of the pieces should be to increase her offensive potential – so much so that her boots’ main stat should be ATK% rather than SPD. With this, you can maximize Topaz’s damage output, even if she strikes a little bit later in the turn-based system.

Best Team Comps For Topaz & Numby

Yukong's splash art, in which she sits on a gold terrace with starskiffs flying behind her. A young Tingyun watches her in awe.

Of course, Topaz is nothing without a team comp to back her up and support her abilities. Because she is not too reliant on anyone, however, you will have a lot of leeway to choose Topaz’s party in Honkai: Star Rail, as they are there to provide her with buffs and protection rather than actively enable her as a DPS.

One of the best team comps for her is a hypercarry team, with Topaz as the main DPS, two support characters to boost her powers, and a healer. While Yukong is the best option for one of the supports, you can also use Asta, Tingyun, or Bronya.

The table below lists a few team comp suggestions for Topaz as the main DPS:

Best Team Comps For Topaz & Numby In Honkai: Star Rail

Hypercarry Team

  • Topaz (Fire – Hunt)
  • Asta (Fire – Harmony)
  • Yukong (Imaginary – Harmony)
  • Luocha (Imaginary – Abundance)

Standard team

  • Topaz (Fire – Hunt)
  • Blade (Wind – Hunt) or any sub-DPS character who relies on Basic ATK
  • Yukong (Imaginary – Harmony)
  • Luocha (Imaginary – Abundance)

You can also use a standard and traditional team comp, with a sub-DPS replacing the second support, and perhaps even use a shielder, such as Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail, instead of a healer.

If you are using this approach, then it is best if the secondary damage dealer is focused on attack with their Basic Attack, because Skill Points should be scarce when playing with Topaz.

Skill Priority For Topaz & Numby

Honkai Star Rail's Topaz holds a coin between her fingers as an explosion effect takes place behind her.

Topaz’s main source of damage will stem from her follow-up attacks provided by Numby, so your first priority when leveling up her Traces in Honkai: Star Rail should be her Talent. Following that, you should increase the level of her Ultimate, as that is the second most powerful source of damage. After those are maxed out, you will want to level her Skill, while the last Trace should be her Basic Attack. The order is as follows:

  1. Talent
  2. Ultimate
  3. Skill
  4. Basic Attack

Even if the Relic and Ornament stats are randomized when farming, building Topaz should not be such a difficult task. There are several Light Cones she can use, even if you do not have her signature 5-star, and she is very self-sufficient, so you only need characters to help her out while battling in Honkai: Star Rail.
