The best way to defeat the Ruiner comes from Holy damage, which the boss is vulnerable to from different attacks or spells. You can make your weapon imbued with Holy by spending a Smite Salt consumable before the start of the fight to give you an advantage in Lords of The Fallen. Additionally, you could learn Radiant spells that apply Holy damage and drain the Ruiner’s health significantly as you find opportunities to use magic.
As a humanoid-type enemy, you can actually parry the Ruiner’s physical attacks to land a devastating counter hit on the boss. While this technique requires timing and pattern recognition, the Ruiner is much easier to anticipate than other bosses like Pieta in Lords of The Fallen.
