Jack Black Releases a New Song With Tenacious D Following ‘Peaches’ Success – Armessa Music News

After his Billboard success with the Super Mario Bros Movie hit, “Peaches,” Jack Black and Kyle Glass are back with another Tenacious D single. And to no one’s surprise, it’s about video games.

“Video Games” is a 1:35 minute song, where Black sings about how he “doesn’t play video games,” but then lists every title that he’s played like God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Fallout 4 just to name a few. He even justified his claim by singing that “Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t a video game, it’s an incredible journey through old American history.”

This animated music video was storyboarded by Chris O’Neill, a YouTuber and animator, known for his work on Smiling Friends, and Adam Palorian, the animation director for Netflix’s The Cuphead Show. So it comes as no surprise that people are praising the music video for its quality.

The song is pretty catchy and while it may not be as big as “Peaches,” the song has already received over 550k views on YouTube within the first seven hours of release. Some people on social media have begun to deem this song as “Peaches: Part 2.” But I think “Peaches” stands on its own, and this is just Black’s way of showcasing his love for video games.

For those who have never heard of Tenacious D until today, they are a comedy rock duo, made up of Black and Glass. The group have released four studio albums since 2001 and won a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Metal Performance for the song “Last in Line.”

Fingers crossed that this song is eligible for a Grammy Award next year, it would be perfect considering “Peaches” has a chance to win an Oscar.
