Jonathan’s Stranger Things Death Would Solve A Major Ending Problem – Armessa Movie News

If Jonathan dies at the end of Stranger Things, it might save Nancy a lot of trouble. In February 2022, the Duffer Brothers announced Stranger Things season 5 would be the end of the road for the popular Netflix series. While fans who grew up with the characters are sad to see the series end, they’re also happy that the show isn’t dragging itself out and is coming to a fitting end. They’re also excited to see what the final season will bring and how the writers will conclude popular storylines. While they’re hoping for the best, it seems likely someone might die.

There have been several deaths throughout the Stranger Things series, including Barb, who fans just can’t let go of. Most recently, Eddie Munson died in Stranger Things season 4, and fans still hope he might secretly be alive like Hopper was after he seemingly died at the end of season 3. However, with Stranger Things season 5 being the last, it’s unlikely there will be any more false alarms, and one of the main characters is likely to die. Fans are set on one of the older characters being at risk, most likely Steve or Jonathan.

Stranger Things’ Love Triangle Needs Jonathan’s Death

The love triangle between Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan originated in season 1 when Nancy had a crush on Steve because he was the popular guy at school, but Jonathan had a crush on Nancy, even though he was too shy to tell her that. The love triangle has continued throughout the series, with fans fighting over who Nancy should be with, but at this point in the show, Nancy and Steve are a better fit, and having them reunite at the end of the series would be a perfect way to showcase how much they’ve both grown.

When they first started dating, Steve wasn’t the best. He was the typical cool guy who cared more about his reputation than Nancy. Nancy found herself drawn to Jonathan because they bonded over the situation with the Upside Down. However, Steve changed a lot, especially through his friendships with Robin and Dustin. He’s also proven how much he cares about Nancy. Unfortunately, if the two end up together, it would seem like a betrayal to Jonathan. If he dies, he might give Nancy his approval to move on and tell her to be with Steve because the two are meant for each other.

Why Jonathan Is A Likely Stranger Things 5 Victim

Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things Season 4

Someone likely has to go in Stranger Things 5, and Jonathan could be the unlucky victim because he hasn’t had much of a redemption. The others have changed drastically, and while Jonathan is a lot less shy and insecure than he once was, Stranger Things season 4 showcased his immature ways. For example, Jonathan struggled with telling Nancy he wanted to go to community college instead of following her to Emerson and living out her dream. Stranger Things also never cleared up a season 1 plot where Jonathan took photos of Nancy getting dressed without her permission. Unless there’s a plan to redeem him, Jonathan’s time might be up.
