Submit Your Short Film for the 3rd Edition of the Kutaisi International Short Film Festival

The Kutaisi International Short Film Festival (KISFF) is pleased to announce the call for submissions for its highly anticipated 3rd edition. Following the success of its previous editions, KISFF has firmly established itself as a prominent event within the Georgian film industry and has gained recognition worldwide.

In May 2021 the festival was held amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and KISFF made an indelible mark. The festival showcased exceptional talent and left a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Kutaisi. Building on this success, the 2022 edition featured an expanded competition program, retrospectives, and an esteemed international jury, further solidifying KISFF’s reputation.

Last year, KISFF received submissions from various genres, including documentary and fiction, with a total of 30 films competing for recognition. The festival also presented an impressive out-of-competition program, a remarkable Jonas Mekas 100 retrospective, a retrospective of modern and classical Georgian shorts, programs highlighting Ukrainian shorts, and the 2022 International Short Film Festival Oberhausen program.

Now, the KISFF team eagerly awaits your film submissions in the documentary and fiction categories. By submitting your film, you grant Kutaisi International Short Film Festival the right to use parts of your film, including the trailer, teaser, and film poster, for promotional purposes.

To submit your film, please ensure that you are the creator of the project or have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it to the festival. It is essential to thoroughly review and comply with the Entry Rules & Regulations provided below:

  • All entries must include English subtitles.
  • Animations are not eligible for submission.
  • Films must have been completed after July 1, 2022.
  • You must possess the rights to all submitted content.
  • Short films and short documentaries should have a duration of 10 to 35 minutes.

Selected films will be announced on August 15, and submitters will be promptly notified. The Kutaisi International Short Film Festival AWARDS will carefully evaluate each film in its entirety, with a dedicated Selection Committee comprising professional filmmakers, film enthusiasts, and critics. The films will be assessed and scored accordingly.

Please note that the submission fee does not guarantee selection and is non-refundable in the event that the film is not chosen.
