Lala Kent and Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney are having the “best time” being single together. Both ladies recently got out of long-term relationships. Lala ended her engagement to Randall Emmett last October. Katie divorced Tom Schwartz, who is also in the VPR cast, earlier this year.
Lala gushed over her and Katie’s single life in an interview with People. “We’re having the best time,” the actress shared, adding, “We call each other every morning to talk about what boys we’re talking to, who we think we’re going to give the boot to. We’re just enjoying being single together. I love that I have a little partner in crime.” While Katie and Tom were married, Lala never made it down the aisle with Rand, who she was engaged to for three years. In fact, the 32-year-old told People she may never get married, explaining that she doesn’t “want to inherit someone else’s s—.” She didn’t say if Katie’s divorce from Tom influenced this mindset. However, the Give Them Lala author continued, “I still believe in love.” She also explained how Ocean, her and Randall’s 1-year-old daughter, influences things.
Lala Kent On Randall Emmett, Ocean, & Her ‘Person’
Lala made it clear that Ocean is her top priority. The Bravo star shared, “I think my person is out there, but Ocean is on my mind 24/7. She’s the first person I think about when I think about going out and dating with this person.” Lala, who does background checks on potential suitors, added, “They’re not just going to come into my world. Being a part of my world and my daughter’s life is a complete luxury that is not just given to anybody.” At the moment, she shares custody of the baby girl with her ex. Lala, who contributed to an exposé of Randall, revealed, “I haven’t seen him since the day I left him, and I think I want to forever keep it that way.” As for the current stance of her relationship with the disgraced producer, the single mom emphasized they only communicate about co-parenting.
Katie has been more amicable with Tom, emphasizing their continued friendship. However, his hookup with Raquel Leviss appears to have complicated things. While Lala feuded with Raquel in the past, Katie appeared to get along with her. However, Raquel reportedly doesn’t feel bad about hooking up with Tom because she and Katie weren’t the closest. And months earlier, Lala cut Tom off for hanging with Randall, a move that Katie understood. Lala has also implied that Tom was the one responsible for wrecking his and Katie’s marriage.
When Lala first joined the show, she and Katie were fierce enemies. Over the years, however, the two Utah natives have become super close. Katie was even the one to tell Lala about Randall’s infidelity. Now, it appears being single has only made their friendship stronger. And fans will get to see how Lala and Katie navigate the dating world when Vanderpump Rules season 10 premieres next year.
