Outlast’s Team Charlie Reveals Why They Rejected Javier Colon – Armessa Movie News

Team Charlie recently talked to Screen Rant about why they turned away Javier Colón from joining their team during Outlast season 1. Javier was slated as the number one contestant on Outlast. However, when he turned to Team Charlie for help, he was denied access to their camp. The only rule of the new survivalist game is that to win, a contestant needed to be a part of a team. These 16 lone wolves were forced to figure out how to work as a group, with some choosing to play a little dirty.

Screen Rant had the chance to speak with the winners of Outlast, Team Charlie, about why they decided to reject Javier after Team Alpha attacked him. Paul Preece admitted that while he felt for Javier and his situation, he wasn’t the reason Team Charlie didn’t accept him with open arms. The father went on to remind viewers that Outlast is a reality TV competition show and that by not accepting Javier, the decision “moved each of us closer to the end goal, so this was a team decision.”

Outlast’s Team Charlie Claims Javier Was ‘Nothing But Drama’

Seth Lueker agreed with his teammate, noting that the game rules stated that a team could be no larger than four people. However, with the game master sharing, there were no real rules, so the numbers could have been changed. The Marine also shared some behind-the-scenes insight, revealing that before Paul left Team Delta, he spoke with fellow Outlast contestant Justin Court about joining the team, noting it was before all the “chaos” started. Sadly, Javier’s timing just caused him to become collateral damage. However, Nick Radner had a different take, sharing that, at the time, the only information they had on Javier was that he was “nothing but drama.”

Javier should have made it much farther in Outlast season 1 but was let down by the despicable choices that other contestants made. Watching the experienced outdoorsman ambushed by Team Alpha’s Jill Ashock and Amber Asay was hard. The women tried their best to bully Javier out of his own camp through raids and stealing his fishing net. The survivalist show revealed just how far some contestants would go to win, and it wasn’t always pretty. Even though Javier should have won Outlast after playing a stand-up game, he sadly didn’t make it that far.

Without a doubt, Javier was one of the most knowledgeable contestants out there in Alaska, with his drive coming across as admirable. In the end, Team Charlie made a decision that was best for them. All three of them were not going to risk a chance of Javier disturbing the team’s dynamics or their chances at winning the large $1 million Outlast prize.

Outlast season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
