She-Hulk Finale’s Surprise Cameo Character Was Kevin Feige’s Idea – Armessa Movie News

Jessica Gao, the creator of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, reveals that Skaar’s surprise cameo in the finale was actually Kevin Feige’s idea. The Disney+ series, based on the popular comic book character She-Hulk, follows Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), a lawyer specializing in cases pertaining to superpowered individuals who learns to manage a complicated life when she discovers that she can transform into the eponymous superhero. Premiering back in August, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were excited by the show’s shared continuity with the franchise, and after the appearance of Skaar, played by Wil Deusner, many are looking forward to seeing how the character will be used in future projects.

Those familiar with Marvel Comics know that Skaar, like his father Bruce Banner, has the ability to transform into a Hulk. Conceived while Banner was on Sakaar, the character has also been depicted as a strong fighter who uses energy, referred to as Old Power, from the planet. The last time Banner was seen on Sakaar was in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, though he was shown to be inside one of its spacecrafts in an episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. In the series’ finale, titled “Whose Show Is This?”, audiences were shocked to see Walters’ cousin return and introduce Skaar to the family. While his appearance is brief, and he does not say anything, this debut suggests big things for the Hulk, as well as the future of the MCU.

In a recent interview with EW, Jessica Gao shares that Skaar’s surprise appearance was Kevin Feige’s idea. The creator explains that there were a lot of thoughts about which character could cameo in the final episode, and that it would be “really cool” to have it be someone new. Read Gao’s quotes regarding the exciting cameo below:

Initially when we first started talking about how the season would end, we were like, ‘It’d be fun if we did a big cameo at the very, very end, the last scene, the last moment, a big cameo from the MCU. That’d be really cool.’ But then we realized that’s so dependent on who’s willing to do it, what their availability is, and there’s just no way at the scripting stage that we would be able to get any sort of guarantees on who would be able to do it. It’s so dependent on that that you can’t really commit to a person in the script. So then we thought it would be really cool if we could tease a new character at the end, either as the last moment of the last scene or even as a post-credits tag.

It was Kevin himself who decided that it should be Skaar, so direct all future questions about that to the man himself.

Where Hulk’s Son Skaar Could Appear Next in the MCU

The addition of Skaar in the MCU sets up a lot of potential projects, with fans most excited over the possibility of a Young Avengers team. Teased for a while now with the introduction of characters like Kate Bishop, America Chavez, and Billy and Tommy Maximoff, the Young Avengers could take shape sooner than expected. With the reveal of Todd Phelps using Walters’ blood to transform into a Hulk himself, and theories surrounding Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk’s involvement in upcoming films, fans may finally get a project centered around Bruce Banner and/or other Hulks as well, such as Planet Hulk or Son of Hulk.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law managed to feature several fun cameos during the course of its first season, but none more surprising than that of Skaar. With Tatiana Maslany’s latest series update suggesting there may not be a She-Hulk season 2, audiences should still expect to see Skaar return in some capacity, especially considering it was Feige’s idea to introduce him. Those who enjoyed the character’s brief appearance in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law can look forward to learning more about him in future MCU content.
