Star Wars Jedi Survivor How To Get A Mount – Armessa Movie News

[ad_1]

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is full of new mechanics compared to the previous installment, Fallen Order. One such addition is that players can tame creatures to be used as mounts to travel across the map faster. With larger levels, it’s certainly a much-appreciated feature that lends itself very nicely to the open worlds that players can explore. Many players found the tight, winding corridors of the last game to be long and confusing, but now, players are free to explore large open areas with ease with the help of mounts.

One thing that players might be curious about is when riding mounts will become available. For new players, the first few hours of the game introduce some basic gameplay mechanics from combat to platforming. While these are the key components of the game there is a lot of land to cover and having a mount early would definitely be a plus.

When Do Mounts Unlock In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

The ability to tame and ride mounts is unlocked in the first world that players visit, Koboh. After the planet’s introductory zone, Dredger’s Gorge, where the Mantis crash-landed, players need to progress the main story to the next region, Rambler’s Reach, before the broader more open areas are unlocked.

The first breadcrumb for mounts that players will find is an NPC near the beginning of the Southern Reach zone that is standing next to a Nekko. Talking to this NPC will let players know that mounts can be found at the stables in the nearby town. However, upon arrival and talking to the NPC by the stable, players still aren’t able to hop on the Nekkos that are there.

Continue the Main Story on Koboh to “Reach The Forest Array“; the first mount that players can actually ride is in the Bilemaw Den.

Flying Mounts In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Relters, the winged creatures seen on Koboh, are the first creatures that Cal Kestis can tame. Players will realize quickly that they aren’t exactly proper flying mounts, but instead, they are used simply to grab quick a ride. Players will typically see these flying creatures perched at the edges of cliffs. The ones that can be used have specific spawn locations and can only be used to glide to lower regions.

Once players unlock the ability to grab hold and glide with these creatures, it does make traveling large distances much faster and allows access to regions previously inaccessible. Still, it’s a nice feature to have if a Meditation Point isn’t near for even faster traveling.

Collecting And Customizing Mounts

After Players have battled with Dagan Gera at the top of the Forrest Array, the main story will become “Check On The Mantis“. Continuing along the path into the “Nekko Pools“, this is where players will find a creature in a cave where Cal can finally unlock taming and riding Nekkos.

Jumping while on the back of a Nekko will make the player jump higher than the standard double jump. Use this to your advantage to reach hidden areas for collectibles on Koboh.

Players can bring any ground mount, the Nekkos, to the stables by Pyloon’s Saloon in Rambler’s Reach Outpost. When brought inside the barn and into a stall the mount will stay put for future use, even after the player has left the area. If a mount isn’t quite in the right spot they have a tendency to wander off and get lost, never to return again.

While on Kodoh, Players can summon any mount by whistling to get the nearest Nekko to come to them. <RB> on Controller.

As for customizing the mount, there don’t seem to be any options available at this time. The only way to change the appearance of your Nekko mount is to find a new one with a different color pattern. Be on the lookout for the perfect one as not all of them are a muted shade of brown, some are even a vibrant shade of magenta to match Cal’s clothing customizations.

It’s no question that finding a Mount and traversing the worlds faster on the backs of wild creatures is a wonderful addition to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Maybe in future DLC players will get the option to customize their mounts further with saddles, colors, or even the option to bring them aboard the Mantis!
