Star Wars Qui-Gon Jinn Action Figure Brings His Force Ghost To Life – Armessa Movie News

Hasbro has announced a brand-new Star Wars Black Series action figure of Qui-Gon Jinn as a Force ghost. Appearing just as he did in the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+, Qui-Gon was one of the first Jedi in the Star Wars canon to ever retain his identity after becoming one with the Force. Now, collectors will soon be able to add Qui-Gon’s spirit to their shelves with this impressively detailed figure.

After Qui-Gon was killed by Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Yoda received training from Qui-Gon’s Force ghost during the Clone Wars. Learning how to become a Force ghost himself, Yoda told Obi-Wan about Qui-Gon at the end of Revenge of the Sith. However, Kenobi wasn’t able to commune with his old master until the very end of his series. Now, Hasbro has revealed new images of the Qui-Gon Force ghost figure along with info for the exclusive that will soon be available for pre-order:

Here’s the new announcement from Hasbro:

STAR WARS fans and collectors can imagine scenes from the STAR WARS galaxy with this premium 6-inch STAR WARS: THE BLACK SERIES QUI-GON JINN figure, inspired by the character’s appearance in the STAR WARS: OBI-WAN KENOBI live-action series. At the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s long journey, he encounters the spirit of his old friend and mentor: venerable Jedi Master and student of the living Force, Qui-Gon Jinn. Fans and collectors can display this fully articulated figure featuring premium detail and multiple points of articulation in their collection. Includes figure”

Hasbro also confirmed that the new Qui-Gon Force ghost figure will be available for pre-order on 7/18 starting 10AM PT on Walmart.com. All in all, the transparent blue robes are an incredible touch for this new Black Series figure. However, the translucent blue legs scaling up to more corporeal Qui-Gon is quite impressive too, translating his existence as a Force ghost incredibly well.Related: George Lucas Believed Qui-Gon Was Wrong To Train Anakin In The Phantom Menace

Why Couldn’t Obi-Wan See Qui-Gon Until The End Of His Series?

As exciting as it was to see Qui-Gon’s Force ghost in Obi-Wan Kenobi, his appearance was only a small cameo at the series’ end. However, this was important for Obi-Wan’s arc while in exile on Tatooine. The first decade watching over Luke Skywalker saw Kenobi cut off from the Force while also being wracked with guilt over what he believed was the death of his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. However, the events of Obi-Wan Kenobi saw the Jedi Master recentering himself and embracing the Force once more, a decision which then allowed him to finally see and speak with Qui-Gon who had been with him the entire time.

At any rate, a Black Series figure of Gui-Gon’s Force ghost will be a fine addition to any Star Wars fan’s collection. Likewise, it makes sense that it’s taken so long for Hasbro to make this particular figure, allowing enough time to pass to avoid spoiling one of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s best moments. He should go very nicely with the Force Ghost 3-pack featuring Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Anakin Skywalker released by Hasbro earlier this year.
