After 25-year-old Kassandra Ramirez went missing from the Bronx in 2018, Hulu’s Missing mentioned two potential suspects in her disappearance.

Missing, a new series from Hulu, covered several cases in its most recent release including the disappearance of Kassandra Ramirez and the potential suspects involved. Like the other cases featured in the most recent batch of episodes, Ramirez’s case takes place in New York City. She was 25-years-old at the time of her disappearance and still remains missing to this day.
One of many true-crime documentary series right now, Missing tracks the case which started in September 2018 when Ramirez was last seen walking out of her Bronx apartment building. Surveillance footage showed her making a left towards Melrose Avenue. This would be the last time she was ever seen. Although there is limited information available on her case there are a handful of suspects who may be responsible.
Kassandra Ramirez’s Ex-Boyfriend Is The Top Suspect In Her Disappearance
The main suspect in Ramirez’s disappearance is currently her ex-boyfriend. Although he is not named in Missing, sources have identified him as John “Kilo” O’Brien (via The Charley Project). The two reportedly had an on-again-off-again relationship for several years prior to Ramirez’s disappearance. O’Brien was much older than Ramirez, reportedly around 40 years of age. He first came to the police’s attention after it was revealed that Ramirez had left her apartment that day to go visit him. However, whether she made it to his location or not is unknown.
Suspicion was further raised when authorities got into contact with O’Brien, and he gave conflicting stories about his whereabouts on the day in question. He first claimed that she never met him in the first place. Then later he would change his story and claim they met up, and he dropped her off at a train station in Queens. Additionally, there has been no evidence to verify O’Brien ever dropped her off there. Soon after being named a person of interest, O’Brien dropped out of sight. Police and news media have been unable to verify his current location or whereabouts however he is still considered a suspect.
An Unidentified Person Is Also Linked To Kassandra Ramirez’s Disappearance
In addition to her ex-boyfriend, another possible suspect in Ramirez’s disappearance is a currently identified suspect who is known to police. Although the suspect’s name was not mentioned in Missing or news sources, he allegedly sexually assaulted Ramirez prior to her disappearance. Ramirez went to the police and the suspect was charged with multiple felonies in connection to the assault. She was set to testify at a grand jury hearing shortly before her disappearance. Given that Ramirez was the star witness in the case and her testimony would have been crucial for a conviction, one can see how it is possible this played a role in her disappearance.
Ultimately the charges against the suspect were dropped, and he went free since Ramirez was unable to testify. Police have gone on record to state that it’s not clear if Ramirez’s sexual assault had anything to do with her disappearance. At the time of this writing, she is still considered missing, although the circumstances of her disappearance remain unclear.
