‘The Flash’ director potentially already landing his next DC movie sends a lightning bolt through the fandom- Armessa Movie News

James Gunn has made no secret of the fact that he’s the world’s biggest fan of The Flash — and, sure, he’s the co-CEO of DC Studios, but we know he wouldn’t praise the upcoming film to high heaven like he is unless he really meant it. For proof, look at the way he’s keeping as quiet as a mouse about Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. So it’s not all that surprising that he’s apparently already locked in director Andy Muschietti to helm one of his upcoming DCU reboots.

What is somewhat surprising, though, is the choice of the film he’s supposedly handing to Muschietti. This is far from confirmed, but a report from One Take News has it that the IT alum is on set to hop from bringing back Michael Keaton’s Batman in The Flash to launching an entirely different incarnation of the Dark Knight in The Brave and the Bold, which will focus on Bruce Wayne and his son, Damian.

Given that this exact eventuality has been rumored for a while, with Muschietti himself even giving a very loaded cagey response to the chatter, it does seem there could be some truth to this development. And, true to form for the DC universe, this revelation is splitting the fandom right down the middle.

For starters, The Flash antis are already washing their hands with The Brave and the Bold after this news.

Others, meanwhile, are putting aside their apathy for The Flash to remain cautiously optimistic.

On the other hand, this is the best news possible for those that are loving what we’ve seen of Muschietti’s direction of Keaton’s Bats so far.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Exhibit A for why Gunn (allegedly) hired Muschietti to make a Batman movie:

Expect to hear more about Muschietti’s potential future with the DCU once The Flash races into theaters on June 16.
