Sylvie Brett’s response to Matt Casey’s proposal in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale may have been spoiled in a new set video. One Chicago’s inaugural show ended the year with arguably its busiest episode. Firehouse 51 was buzzing with both professional and personal affairs, but nothing from the Chicago Fire season 11 finale was as satisfying as seeing Casey finally asking Brett to get married.

The Chicago Fire season 11 finale left the scene unresolved, however, saving Brett’s answer for season 12. However, a new behind-the-scenes clip from Kara Killmer may have revealed her response. Check it out below:

For context, Casey was back in Chicago primarily for work reasons after Stella Kidd found a breakthrough in the case that they are working on. However, unlike his previous visit, he took advantage of the time he had back home to also fix his love life, which resulted in the proposal.

Will Brett Really Turn Down Casey’s Chicago Fire Proposal?

The last time Casey was back in the Windy City, he couldn’t make a move on Brett after learning that she was already seeing someone else. When Dylan unexpectedly broke things up with her following Brett’s decision to adopt a baby in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale, the former Firehouse 51 captain seized the moment and finally proposed to Brett. Unfortunately, as with several other plot lines in One Chicago, including the status of Kidd and Kelly Severide’s marriage, fans would have to wait until next season to learn about Brett’s answer.

For context, Casey hasn’t mentioned moving back to Chicago, although he has made it clear that he wants to return home. Meanwhile, Brett hasn’t considered moving to Portland with him in case they push through with tying the knot. Given these factors, it’s difficult to predict how exactly this arc is going to pan out in Chicago Fire season 12. For what it’s worth, they can do another long-distance set-up, but that undoes everything that they have been through after breaking up because of their situation.

It’s curious if NBC and Wolf Entertainment’s decision to continue developing Brett and Casey’s romance in Chicago Fire has something to do with Severide’s absence. Taylor Kinney unexpectedly asked to go on a temporary leave of absence in the middle of season 11, which derailed the show’s plans for him and Kidd. Considering Jesse Spencer’s limited involvement in the series, however, it may not have any long-term plan for the couple despite Casey’s proposal.
