The Morning Show season 3, episode 8 saw the past catching up to certain characters while others were caught up in some potentially game-changing storylines. The Morning Show season 3 has been full of ups and downs, as multiple characters vie for power and control within UBA and the news industry at large. The Morning Show characters have made plenty of big decisions to varying degrees of success throughout season 3, and episode 8 proved that these actions will not be without consequences.

As The Morning Show season 3 nears its end, episode 8 featured even more story turning points. Fortunately, The Morning Show season 4 has already been confirmed, as there are still numerous plots waiting to be expanded upon and/or resolved. The Morning Show has always thrived off its plot twists and suspense elements, with season 3, episode 8 adding a sense of both thrill and dread for the characters and what lies ahead.

11 Christina Is Being Threatened For Her Supreme Court Post

The Morning Show season 3, episode 7 introduced an important storyline regarding the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. After her “abort the court” Instagram post in the previous episode, Christina had to deal with the fallout in The Morning Show season 3, episode 8. At the start of the episode, someone waiting outside the UBA building threw a bucket of what was meant to look like blood on her and called her a “baby killer.”

This demonstration, along with further threats that could compromise her safety, led to UBA scaling back Christina’s coverage of the decision and reproductive rights. Additionally, UBA appointed a bodyguard for her. Chris attempted to fight against both decisions, but it was one battle she couldn’t win, as she had to reconcile her professionalism and responsibility as someone with a platform and her personal feelings.

10 The Picture Of Paul & Alex Is Leaked

Another example of fallout from The Morning Show season 3, episode 7 was the Vault’s publication of the incriminating picture of Paul and Alex kissing in bed. Since it went public before Paul’s interview on Alex, Unfiltered aired, Cory wanted to capitalize on it for ratings. This caused Alex and Cory to go head-to-head once again as she refused to make a statement and insisted on pushing the interview because she didn’t want to distract from the “actual” news about the Supreme Court decision. Unfortunately for Alex, the leaking of the picture meant the damage was already done, whether she wanted to address it or not.

9 Stella & Bradley Want To Help Kate Expose Hyperion

Stella Talking To Bradley In The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 8.jpg

Stella has had one of the most interesting character arcs in The Morning Show season 3, particularly due to the discovery of her past with Paul. Following her fight with Kate about Hyperion and Paul in episode 7, Stella tried to right her wrongs in episode 8. After failing to get through to Kate, Stella turned to Bradley to ask her to try and find out what information Kate had on Hyperion that could potentially expose Paul Marks.

While Bradley was initially hesitant because of her tragic history with Hannah, she agreed to help. Though Bradley was able to make initial contact with Kate, the ex-Hyperion employee stood her up for their planned meeting. Still, it’s unlikely that this is the end of Kate’s story in The Morning Show, and Paul has reasons to be afraid of what’s to come.

8 Mia Finds Out That Andre Returned Home Without Telling Her

Mia spent multiple episodes in The Morning Show season 3 trying to find out if Andre was alive, and she finally got her answer when she saw him being interviewed on Your Day, America in episode 8. Simultaneously frustrated and relieved, Mia confronted Andre in what turned into an explosive, public argument. Andre blamed her for him being in Ukraine in the first place, and Mia then called Andre a “middle-aged adrenaline junkie who would rather bounce between wars than commit to a zip code.” This was a big departure from their previous interactions in the present timeline and was more reminiscent of their fights in the flashback episode.

7 Alex’s New Interview Backfires

Due to the leaked picture of Paul and Alex together, the latter struggled with getting a good interview subject to talk to her about the Supreme Court Decision on Alex Unfiltered. Despite her show’s popularity, most of the people she wanted to interview went to speak to Laura on YDA instead, much to her chagrin in The Morning Show season 3, episode 8. Getting a good interview was especially important to Alex, not just because of the topic, but because she had to prove to Cory that she’d made the right decision to postpone her interview with Paul and not make a statement.

After some failed attempts, Alex got an interview with the fictional Jess Bennett for Alex Unfiltered, who was the first person to predict the overturn of Roe v. Wade on her website. While discussing the Supreme Court and minority rule, Jess called Alex out on her potential biases, asking her if she could actually speak truth to power on certain issues when she’s sleeping with said power. This left Alex flustered on camera, as her adamancy to not address her relationship with Paul backfired.

6 Alex Fires Chip In The Morning Show Season 3

Unsurprisingly, the failed interview led to another classic fight between Alex and Chip. Alex blamed her producer for not trying hard enough to get good interview subjects and claiming he didn’t vet Jess well enough. He countered this by telling her the interview had valid points, and that it could’ve been avoided had she just made a statement. Chip expressed his frustration at always having to clean up all of Alex’s messes only for her to make more messes and blame him. Like Cory with Bradley, he feels as though Alex owes him. Eventually, Alex reached her breaking point and fired Chip.

Shocked and upset, Chip finally told Alex that he never had COVID-19 as he’d led her to believe in The Morning Show season 2 finale. She didn’t ask him to do this, which represents the lack of boundaries between them brought on by Chip’s love for Alex and their lengthy history. It’s unclear whether this is truly the end of their working relationship, but if it is, Alex may have a hard time finding someone she trusts and who is willing to work with her. Chip would also need to finally get over his feelings for Alex, or at least let it stop affecting their work.

5 Laura Discovers The Truth About Hal, Bradley & Cory

Bradley and Cory’s big secret in The Morning Show season 3 was bound to come out eventually, and Laura was able to put the pieces together in episode 8. Laura and Bradley are newly back together, and Laura still has some understandable doubts about her girlfriend’s closeness with Cory. When she expressed this to her YDA co-anchor, Audra told her to look into the website of UBA hacked information to see if anything was going on between Cory and Bradley. What Laura expectedly found was the information that helped her realize what Bradley, Cory, and Hal have been hiding about January 6.

If Laura could figure out the truth in The Morning Show through research done on public websites, it means anyone else can as well. Laura hasn’t done anything with this discovery yet, lying to Bradley and saying she was sick in order to be left alone to process the disappointing news. However, this is far from the end of this storyline as The Morning Show season 3 trailer featured Laura yelling at Bradley, presumably about her coverup of Hal’s involvement in the January 6 insurrection.

4 Mia & Andre Get Back Together In The Morning Show

Just when things seemed to be done between Mia and Andre, he came to her office towards the end of The Morning Show season 3, episode 8 to apologize. Still, Mia said she couldn’t be with him or guys like him anymore and acknowledged that both of them would never change, suggesting that being together would only cause more of the same issues down the line. Despite her initial reluctance, Andre managed to win her over and will hopefully be treating her better in future episodes.

3 Paul Wants To Sell UBA & Start Over

Alex has spent The Morning Show season 3 trying to save UBA, but after firing Chip, she confessed to Paul that she’s not sure if it’s worth it anymore. This inspired Paul to share his new plan and vision for UBA, which would involve selling the network when the deal goes through, so they could “start over from the ground up.” In getting rid of the sports, entertainment, streaming, and scripted content, Paul’s goal is to “build something new on [their] own terms centered on news.” If they do manage to pull this off, it would give Alex the power she’s been craving since The Morning Show began.

2 Paul’s Assistant Meets With Fred

Fred crashed Cory’s party in The Morning Show season 3, episode 4 but hadn’t been seen since. Paul’s deal had hopefully meant getting rid of the disgraced former UBA president for good, until Paul’s assistant, Amanda, secretly met with him at the end of The Morning Show season 3, episode 8 to find out the value of UBA’s assets. Fred, aware of their intentions, said he’d be “happy to help.” It’s unlikely that Alex is aware of his involvement, and considering his track record, Fred could end up ruining the plan and UBA completely.

1 The Morning Show Employees Honor Hannah 3 Years After Her Death

Gugu Mbatha-Raw As Hannah In The Morning Show.jpg

After all the drama, The Morning Show season 3, episode 8 ended on a touching note, with the show’s employees gathering to honor Hannah on the third anniversary of her death. With all the time jumps, the occasion also helped contextualize just how much time has passed since season 1 began and Bradley joined UBA. Mia, who was with Andre, was notably absent, as was Alex, who may or may not have been invited. The Morning Show has come a long way since the season 1 finale, and it was a nice way to wrap up the episode as the season 3 finale approaches.
